Moses Bukenya Leaves Kalemba Off Ggwangamujje Meeting Minutes

Posted on 08 November 2008

In a highly suspect move, the Vice President of Ggwangamujje Boston, and not the secretary, took the minutes for the controversial October 26, 2008 general meeting. And he leaves the names of many attendees off the minutes, most notably that of the man who highly influenced the proceedings, UNAA stalwart Moses Kalemba. Bukenya wrote the minutes despite the presence of secretary, Patrick Bukenya.

According to one attendee who briefed this reporter, on condition of anonymity, it appears that Bukenya wants to the put decisions on record without details on who was there and who said what.  According to the attendee: “The fact is that the meeting was about two things. Most important to the Kalemba caucus was the Ttabamiruka date change. The other one was removing Kaasa Nakabale. Kalemba and Bukenya aggressively demanded and got the date change they wanted and, after that they were happy to give a lot of time to the other stuff. A few of the “basajja ba Kabaka” who supported the change would shock you. Bukenya is leaving Kalemba and others off the minutes and hiding the Ttabamiruka ’09 date change deep in the minutes because they think that we are really stupid.”

The minutes that Bukenya wrote, including the English mistakes and with the Ttabamiruka ’09 decision in boldface, are reproduced below:

Well, what this gentleman is doing ain’t any different from what his political god-fathers ala Mbabazi, Suruma, Ssekandi, Khiddu – Makubuya, M7, Kakooza, et.al back home in Uganda are doing in respect of the Mbabazi-Temangalogate! It is sheer mafiozo, kabisa!! They literally pretend to be the John Patricks, Yoweris (read Joels), Edwards, etectra yet are downright crooks! I hope this Boston Chapter will be on top of the Bukenya-Kalemba shenanigans and get the Chapter right back on the right track towards the Great Buganda Nation!

I was for my very first time able to attend a meeting organised to find solutions to bettter our mother land Buganda, i find it hard to say Uganda. The point is; what’s the way forward for me a young muganda looking forward to see peace come to Buganda? I, noticed there was no involvement of the youth, who we know are the future? I think, i will be very much happy if we the young people of buganda understand that we have a huge part to bring change. When the Buganda anthem was sang at the closing, i have never in my life been proud to be a muganda like at that moment. Robert Mukasa Kazinda
