On August 24, 2009, Kabaka Ronald Mutebi II decried the growing mod violence by land squatters (bibanja holders) against legal land owners. The Kabaka was opening the 17th session of the Great Lukiiko (Buganda national parliament) . The Kabaka said: ”"For generations in Buganda there has been a smooth working relationship between land owners and bibanja holders. Now, there is no harmony between the two sides because each suspects the other one. ” He called for a solution to be found to stop the situation from getting out of control.
The Kabaka did not blame any party for the violence. However, according to sources at Mmengo, Kabaka Mutebi is very concerned about the ongoing FM radio campaigns by John Tamale Mirundi, encouraging squatters to attack land owners. Mirundi uses Star FM, TOP Radio and other FM stations to tell his targeted listeners: “When those land owners bring court brokers or surveyors and try to evict you, defend your selves. Be ready to use pangas (machetes), sticks and fire to get rid them.” In the last two months, mobs of bibanja holders have murdered two landlords in Bugerere county alone. In Makukulu Village, Sam Kubo was lynched last week when he went to survey his land in the area. And on July 31, 2009, squatters in Namatogonya village, also in Bugerere, beat the owner’s agent, Livingstone Ssekamate, unconscious and then burnt his alive.
Along with Robert Mukhooli Kabushenga, Tamale Mirundi is believed to be one of Mr. Museveni’s two most trusted strategy advisors on Buganda. As Mr. Museveni’s Presidential Press Secretary, Tamale Mirundi is widely believed by rural land squatters to be speaking on behalf of the Ugandan strong man. The emerging consensus among Buganda analysts is that president Museveni may be creating the terror because Mmengo seems to have successfully blocked his Land Act Amendment of 2009 the way they did with the his Regional Tier. But there are some who believe that Mr. Museveni is popularizing violence as part of a bigger vision to create a genocide in Buganda.
This is not the first time that Museveni and Tamale Mirundi have engaged in FM radio campaigns to promote violence in Buganda. In January 2009 we reported that Mirundi and his boss were engaged in an intense anti-Buganda FM Radio campaign similar to the ones that were blamed for the 1994 Rwanda genocide (see “Museveni Sending Dangerous Message Through Tamale Mirundi“).

It therefore goes without saying that Museveni and Tamale Mirundi are personally responsible for the gruesome murder of the 7 or so Baganda landlords who have lately been lynched and burned alive at the direct instigation of these two people. I am even wondering why an FM radio station that claims to be in the service of Obulokole can readily avail its services all the time to a genocider like Tamale Mirundi. I am told that at this balokole FM, the host, reportedly a one Africa Ddamulira, always refers to Mirundi as “Omukukunavu”, meaning a “diginatory”. Can you believe this? A genocider can be referred to as a diginatory?? Now, when push comes to shove, all these people ala Africa Ddamulira who are aiding genociders to perpetrate crimes against our people in Uganda will also be answerable.

This is the same Senyonga who was arrested for fondling a 13 year-old girl during a flight in the USA. It seems that he go out of it but the deal was never publicized. They are all crooks!

You are right to be angry! How can a whole president mobilize one section of his country’s population against another? How?? How can folks be murdered and the murderers be just praised? By the way, who is this person called Tamale Mirundi? Can someone help us provide his profile? What is his nationality?? This man, whoever and whatever he is, is a criminal!! I hear he is a presidential adviser? Oh, my foot!! He advises on anarchy and murders?? The way I see things unfolding in that Banana Republic, we better be prepared for a round of an interehamwe-like state-inspired genocide in Uganda!
Incidentally, Tara is pointing out an important precaution concerning our Kabaka and the rest of the royal family in Buganda! It looks pretty much like this ogre-campaign is aimed at eliminating the Kabaka. Baganda all over the world, let us watch out! These are red signs!!! Our Nnamunswa and his entire royal family could be the real target of that criminal regime’s madness! And I am so much disappointed that a religious-based FM station could be used to host genociders and/or disseminate messages of genocide! What kind of religion are they preaching?? You will notice that by the time the article was written, Mr. Tamale Mirundi was a rabid opponent of Mr. Museveni and the Banyankole/Banyarwand. They are now bed fellows in promoting genocide against Baganda. Good reading:

The National Political Commissar, Dr Crispus Kiyonga, has warned that Mr. Tamale Mirundi’s hate propaganda against the Banyankole, which is aired on the CBS FM Radio, is inflaming genocide. We want to amplify Dr Kiyonga’s important message.
It is really laughable for people like Tamale Mirundi to self-style themselves into the Biblical Moses who see themselves as the right people to guide Ugandans. Uganda Confidential finds it intriguing that a man who cannot successfully manage even a kiosk, a journalist whose vernacular paper, Lipoota died long ago and whose management of The Voice newspaper also failed, a man who failed to convince just one constituency (Kyotera) to elect him to the seventh parliament, can now stand up and assign himself the role of a founding father, the overseer, the visionary, and so on.
To Uganda Confidential, the problem is not Mr Tamale Mirundi. He is just a small part of the larger problem. The problem is the Government failure to put in place a technical and nationalistic information policy. This is the problem that has never been addressed right from the colonial days. When the colonialists come to Uganda, they deliberately refused to develop two important areas: the army and the media.
During the colonial days, what should have been a fully fledged ministry of information was reduced to a mere desk, manned by one man in the office of the Colonial Governor. This person’s job was to write about Ugandans with a lot of emphasis on tribal differences: the Northerners were known as the brave and barbaric people; the Baganda were cunning and white collar thieves; the Banyankole were portrayed as lazy people; while the Asians were seen as “coolies”.
Mr Tamale Mirundi’s emphasis that the Banyankole are looters of state wealth is just a continuation of the destructive colonial media distortion. In the absence of a solid media base, at the time of independence, the media, mainly Radio Uganda, was synonymous with entertainment.
Indeed, one of the main agreements in the merger between Kabaka Yekka Party (KY) and UPC was that since the Baganda had the richest cultural industry, it was agreed that Radio Uganda be given to KY. Indeed, Radio Uganda was known more for its Kadongo Kamu music of the day. But that was not bad. The turning point where the Tamale Mirundis of this world have roots was when the KY-UPC alliance collapsed in 1966.
For unclear reasons, The first Milton Obote regime and the successive savage regimes of Idi Amin and Okello Lutwa (RIP) turned the ministry of information to be a cover for state security operatives. The late J. Namakajjo and group were coughing up in this mess, and journalism became synonymous with intelligence. Radios were turned into instruments of hate campaigns. Instead of developing specialised media, Radio Uganda was turned into a spring board for dwarf politicians, with their savage political announcements.
Mr Tamale Mirundi’s hot political air is rooted in this recent distorted media history, where political failures assigned themselves the role addressing the nation from a safe radio station, which was at that time, even guarded by the military. Radio propaganda was an easy way to use in poisoning of the colonial peasants. It was successfully used in Rwanda and Burundi. In fact, the French colonialists, the savage of the whole lot, deliberately refused to develop the print media in their colonies. The print media appeals to serious people. A written word is like an egg, once broken can never mended. One can take you on word per word in the print media, not so with the radio where Mr Tamale Mirundi will counter by denying or modifying his statement. It is therefore easy for an entertainment house to take a little licence into political gossiping in lazy and casual manner. You don’t do that in political writing. You must be ready to defend your self even after many years, if you ever make a political blunder in writing. It is precisely because of this scientific law of the media that cheap political blunders in the print media cannot be sustained. The Citizen, Munno and The Exposure, which were the voice of the Democratic Party collapsed, because the readers voted against their line. The Focus and The Shariat, which stood for the Muslim fanatics, collapsed because the readers voted them off the streets. The People of the UPC folded because the readers also voted them out of Uganda House. So when Dr Rwanyarare turns to The Monitor and wants it to play the role which The People used to play, the writing on the wall is very clear. Dr Rwanyarare’s poison will soon make the readers vote The Monitor out of the Monitor House. Mr Tamale Mirundi’s own paper Lipoota was voted off the streets precisely because not even one hundred readers agreed with his political views. Mr Tamale Mirundi is thriving at CBS because the management of CBS does not seem to realise that if Government woke up today and set up a solid information policy, Mr Tamale Mirundi’s mountain of cheap political propaganda would be reduced to sea level. Even the wonderful CBS would find it hard to take a gamble in political areas which they cannot scientifically defend. Our advise is simple: Entertainment Radios should stick to entertainment. If they want to adventure into political and economic areas, they should get political journalists, not a political failure who is taking his revenge on society for having rejected him twice, as an editor and as a politician. If Mr Tamale Mirundi want to be a political journalist let him start his own political paper. Uganda Confidential, which is now more than 12 years, has succeeded because we scientifically analysed the readership in Uganda. We have a small class of the most important people, which will grow with time. The famous Economist did this in 1848. It started off with only 3,500 copies. BUGANDA is currently under attack from all sides , profoundly by people who come outside the boardes of BUGANDA , fueled by
Twaalire culture.
Hoads of tribes have mispresented themselves after crossing Lwera into BUGANDA. They have used all sorts of ways to
achieve their noble goal , some through violance and plunder and Genocide to subdue BUGANDA.
Others have adopted dubious means like obtaining fraudulent documents , diplomas and bith certificates to get them to
the promised land BUGANDA.
This is indicative of the massive land grabbing Bonanza currently being witnessed accross the board in BUGANDA coupled with the looming Kampala take over by M7.
However, all empirical data shows that the people behind this debacle are 98% Balaalo with connections to the State
house , Army etc…..
Yet , many of these Sserwajja okwota have given themselves BAGANDA names like Tamale , Naggenda , Ssali , Kiggongo ,
Namayanja , Namirembe etc……
Ironically , some have had the audacity of highjacking BAGANDA royal names like , Kagere , Mpologoma , Nassolo , Ndagire ,
Ssimbwa , Walugembe , Kayondo , Suuna etc…
This is a clear attack against our cultural norms and a blatant abuse of BUGANDA culture and hospitality.
Recently , BUGANDA took Newvision to courts for defamation and hate campaign against Ssabasajja Kabaka.
Indeed , this was unprecented move in the history of BUGANDA for Kabaka to go to courts against BANAMAWANGA Newspapers in BUGANDA.
Yet , BUGANDA is not and has never been a hot spot or a center for discrimination and tribalism. Buganda has through
centuries welcomed people running away from wars , hunger and unemployment.
Many of these refugees whether in Namutamba or Lwampanga BUGANDA gave them access to shelter , Clothing , Medicare , education and above all civilisation like any civilised society would have done without discord or discrimination.
They came hungry and some of them naked from Rwanda , Burundi , Acholi , Lango , etc… with luggages of strange cultures and languages,
Nevertheless BUGANDA took them in with open arms.
Subsequently , they penetated the Army , Police , Intelligence organisations and civil services, seconded by colonialists
and their cousins in these organisations.
Today , BUGANDA is at the receiving end of the political equation in Uganda.
BAGANDA are discriminated every where and thousands are languishing in Luzira prison and the only crime committed
is being BAGANDA.
In fact 70% of Luzira inmates are BAGANDA and 85% of prisoners on death row are BAGANDA yet all prison officers
are non BAGANDA.
Indeed , BUGANDA is swamped by these people who have abused , looted and raped BUGANDA primitively and repeatedly.
Yes , BUGANDA is under unmitigated existantial threat from all angles.
Honesty or lack of determines in most cases how you are viewed by others . If you call yourself Walugembe and you are
a mulaalo.
Honestly , how can anyone expect BAGANDA to trust these people who adopt BAGANDA names with hidden agendas ?
All I am saying is let the census exercise and mukago Bells ring in BUGANDA !
Relentlessly , we have been bombarded with sanatized figures of BAGANDA in BUGANDA by non BAGANDA concorted and cooked to suit their own ends and audiences.
However, let us use this census to exactly tell the true figure of BAGANDA in Uganda and diaspora.
We shall enter an oath ( omukago ) by every MUGANDA that will be censured and approved by Nyaffe BUGANDA.
This will entail :-
1. Making an oath between every MUGANDA and Nyaffe BUGANDA and accordingly swear allegiance to protect , defend ,
our land , BUGANDA as we know it and above all the BUGANDA Kingdom.
2. This will give every MUGANDA a sense of ardour direction and gradually hamper the abuse , Rape and the endless
looting of our marooned people.
3. This census will regenerate love , dignity , unity and win hearts and minds among the BUGANDA youth as BUGANDA
embarks on a road map to attain self emancipation through FEDERO.
4. Every MUGANDA will be vetted through okulanya seconded by two BAGANDA and issued with ID card bearing their
names , clan , Place of birth and a tax code – charity tax code to Nkuruze.
5. No wonder , many people wonders how BUGANDA will cope given the arcane traffic jam of immigrants in BUGANDA
How will BUGANDA tell a MUGANDA from a non MUGANDA ?
Well , BUGANDA culture underscores many ways of arbitrary executing this census just like Mother Hen can tell her chicks
from those of a duck.
6. Lastly this census will be a great help to BUGANDA in her social , political and economical planning.
