I Have Checked, Buganda Is Under Occupation

Posted on 14 December 2008

Dear Maama,

I was happy when Musa told me that he managed to see you and that you look excellent. He also told us that he has never tasted better “ngenge” than you cooked when he visited you. Also thank you very much for all the gifts you sent.

Maama, Musa told about your anger that Museveni has made sure that of resident district commissioners (RDCs) who implement his actions and local money spending in Buganda are from the West. And that it made you feel that Buganda is under occupation (”buwambe”). You know me, I immediately started to check it out in Google. The place I landed is Museveni’s own state house website and the evidence was right there for everyone to see.

By the way, although Museveni spent tens of millions of dollars on building the state house, his website has not been updated since October 2008. Yet simple daily updates should cost less than 500 dollars a month (if there was no corruption).

Obama Tips Clinton: More Bad News for Uganda Dictatorship

Posted on 18 November 2008

Dear Maama,

In my last letter I told you that, most of us here believe that Obama is going to be bad news for African dictators. I also said that Kenya, Uganda and Zimbabwe are likely to be affected most because Barack is very well informed about the election rigging and civil rights abuses in these countries. Word from my smart Baganda friends here (Think Tank) is that the potential for Baganda to get Obama’s attention are even higher than first thought.

One of the important new things is that now, Mrs. Hillary Clinton is the person most likely to become secretary of state (American name for Minister of Foreign Affairs).

Obama Win Bad News for Uganda Dictatorship

Posted on 06 November 2008

Kyaterekera omunaku tekivunda. What you have prayed for all these months happened, as you already know from CNN. Your “tall boyfriend” Obama won! And Jeff, my Republican friend who has been insisting that the polls were all lying when they showed Obama ahead did not even come to work this morning. I hope you remember Jeff. He is the guy with a tattoo who lent me his van when we bought the dining table in 2004. Anyway, back to Obama. We have been going to bed after midnight for about a full month; staying awake to watch the CNN and MSNBC election coverage. And yesterday we even went to the victory party at the Holiday Inn near the Interstate and returned home at 1:45 AM.

Lamentations of Buganda (REMIX OF Lamentations, Chapter 5, The Bible)

Posted on 22 October 2008

It was great talking to you on Sunday and learning that your are so much better. My theory is that the anxiety around the event of October 8 and 9, 2008 might have pushed that blood pressure up. And who can blame you? So many people are incensed at how this man, who never stepped in Buganda until he was over 24 years of age can get to the point of treating Kabaka Mutebi like trash. Anyway, to calm myself down while doing something that you will like very much, I decide to adopt one my favorite chapters to Buganda’s situation. See below, my own “remix” of Lamentations, Chapter 5.

Those Uganda Government Crooks Make My Blood Boil

Posted on 30 September 2008

Maama,

Nkulamusizza nnyabo. I hope you and the muzzukulu are all doing fine. We are also doing fine and somewhat engrossed in the presidential campaign. I hope you get a chance to see a good amount of it on CNN too. Eh, your tall boyfriend BO seems to be getting even better as his opponent keeps acting more and more erratically.

When it comes to Buganda issues, Maama the situation is totally depressing. I am amazed how you and other serious people get through the day in Buganda today. Because for me I am totally fed up with the arrogance of these crooks who have stripped Buganda naked.

On Kabaka, Ttabamiruka, Obama and US Economy

Posted on 19 September 2008

Dear Maama,

Muliyo mutya nnyabo since we spoke on the phone. Ffe tuli bulungi. The holiday season is winding up and the pace at work is starting to pick up as the weather gets cooler and everyone runs out of vacation (leave) days.

The big thing that happened this week is that shocking story in the Red Pepper about some people planting a bomb at Bulange to get Namunswa. I don’t know if Kazibwe started bringing you printouts of Sekanyolya and Buganda Post.
