On Wednesday August 27, 2008, former Katikkiro of Buganda, Owek. Daniel Muliika arrived in New Jersey to attend Ttabamiruka ‘08. According to reports reaching Buganda Post from New York, former Buganda Katikkiro, Daniel Muliika and Makindye MP, have arrived in New Jersey for the conference. Owek. Muliika plane is reported to have arrived in Newark International airport at around 6:00 PM. Additional details could not be obtained by the time of this posting.

FIDA is the International Federation of Women Lawyers (FIDA) which promotes and defends the legal rights of women, children and indigents. It has a branch in Uganda.
Over one year ago, Uganda MP for Makindye and one of Buganda’s best political thinkers challenged the people of occupied Buganda to think about the concept of a legal “divorce” from Uganda. He cited, among other reasons, the marginalization of Buganda, endemic corruption that has been institutionalized by President Museveni’s government as reasons for Buganda to consider divorce. Predictably, anti-Buganda forces attacked Kyanjo for his opinion and, like a bully, Mr. Museveni’s government dangled the “treason stick” in front of him.
