When the appointed time for the Ggwanga Mujje Boston meeting came, those who came to replace Rev. Kaasa Nakabaale’s executive and confirm the Ttabamiruka date change could not get what they wanted. And the reason was because the special elections they wanted to hold were illegal according to the Ggwangamujje constitution. According to the constitution of Ggwangamujje a meeting that will have a vote to change the Executive must be announced 30 day in advance.
Approximately 100 Baganda met in Waltham (Boston suburb) expecting to see a verbal fight that would end with the replacement of the current executive with one that is more friendly to the objectives Museveni funded UNAA.

One of Africa’s most talented, enduring and famous singing stars is dead. Miriam Makeba who was 76 years old, passed away overnight after performing at a concert in Italy on Sunday. According to news wire services, Makeba collapsed as she was leaving the stage at a concert in support of Roberto Saviano, an author who has received death threats after he wrote about Italian organized crime. She was taken to a private clinic near Naples where she died of apparent cardiac arrest.
In mid-October 2008 Makeba participated in Kampala’s first jazz festival where she performed alongside Baganda and Israeli bands. Because she disembarked the plane in a wheel chair there were concerns that she might not be able to entertain her fans.

In a highly suspect move, the Vice President of Ggwangamujje Boston, and not the secretary, took the minutes for the controversial October 26, 2008 general meeting. And he leaves the names of many attendees off the minutes, most notably that of the man who highly influenced the proceedings, UNAA stalwart Moses Kalemba. Bukenya wrote the minutes despite the presence of secretary, Patrick Bukenya.
According to one attendee who briefed this reporter, on condition of anonymity, it appears that Bukenya wants to the put decisions on record without details on who was there and who said what. According to the attendee: “The fact is that the meeting was about two things. Most important to the Kalemba caucus was the Ttabamiruka date change.

On November 4, 2008 the Chairman of Ggwangamujje Boston, Rev. Nakabaale Kaasa, sent an email to BugandaPost.com, to deny that he had made a posting earlier that day, which, among other things, attacked one Joe Magandazi and praised UNAA’s Moses Kalemba. Buganda Post has been able to verify that this email is genuine. However, it is not been possible to establish who made the posting which Rev. Nakabaale has denied.
Our source in Ggwangamujje Boston has told this reporter that the “not so smart” impersonation of Rev. is clearly an attempt to confuse the Boston community about Kaasa’s true personality and Buganda credentials, a typical NRM technique.

Most major news organizations have reported that United States Senator John Kerry is one of the people being considered by President-elect for the post of Secretary of State (equivalent to Minister of Foreign Affairs). If Senator Kerry is appointed Secretary of State it could spell trouble for the Uganda government. Senator John Kerry, who represents [...]

Kyaterekera omunaku tekivunda. What you have prayed for all these months happened, as you already know from CNN. Your “tall boyfriend” Obama won! And Jeff, my Republican friend who has been insisting that the polls were all lying when they showed Obama ahead did not even come to work this morning. I hope you remember Jeff. He is the guy with a tattoo who lent me his van when we bought the dining table in 2004. Anyway, back to Obama. We have been going to bed after midnight for about a full month; staying awake to watch the CNN and MSNBC election coverage. And yesterday we even went to the victory party at the Holiday Inn near the Interstate and returned home at 1:45 AM.

Mr. Moses Bukenya, the current Vice Chair of Gwangamujje Boston has made a posting on Buganda Post where he says that his character was slandered when, according to him, it was suggested that he supports the NRM. Bukenya specifically requested that a correction be made to reverse the impression that he is an NRM supporter and the implied accusation that he had committed the “heinous crime” of plotting against the kingdom. Mr. Bukenya’s posting does not however deny his involvement in the changing of the Ttabamiruka ’09 date from Labor Day weekend to May or July. For many Baganda all over the world, changing the Ttabamiruka date to make it less convenient to attendees is viewed as sabotage.

On September 11, 2008 this columnist credited president Museveni inspired Baganda bashing for the emergency of a new breed of Muganda. Kabaka Mutebi, the most important of all Baganda, had gotten fade up and sent the signal to Baganda to relentlessly fight for their land and political rights. And sensing this new tone from their Kabaka, many Baganda, led by the youth and those in the diaspora crystallized into this new Muganda who will not be cowed. It now appears that the new Muganda is starting to tell the Baganda bashers, “Payback time is coming!”
