On November 26, 2009, Museveni’s Langi minister of Lands, Omara Atubo, told a symposium on decentralization, women land rights and citizenship in Kampala, that: “His highness the Kabaka stopped being the Ssabataka when he was given the 360 square miles by the British.” Milton Obote’s kinsman did not explain to the meaning what the word [...]

A survey of that has been carried out by two Baganda statisticians in Kampala suggests that the Asian community in Uganda is key to Museveni’s and the NRM’s armed occupation of Buganda. They control the local banking industry, have a virtual monopoly on manufacturing and are the investment agents of choice for the biggest Balaalo [...]

Apollo N. Makubuya
Dear Honourable Members,
I write further to Owek. Katikkiro’s letter to you on the Land (Amendment) Bill 2007 that is presently on the floor of Parliament.
The kingdom recognises the fact that there are many people suffering violent evictions from their homes and that ancestral grounds are being desecrated in gross violation of our cultural [...]

When Museveni ordered his prime minister Apollo Nsibambi and the speaker of his parliament, Sekandi, to introduce the controversial Land Amendment Bill 2007, he set a trap for NRM MPs. Sources close to the Uganda warlord’s state house tell us that Museveni is using the land bill debate for many reasons. The source told us: [...]

It is unlikely to be a coincidence that over the last few weeks at least three Baganda Internet outlets, with strong pro-Buganda and pro-Kabaka positions have been hacked. These include www.ngomaradio.com, www.theugandacitizen.com and www.bugandapost.com. We have not yet been able to independently confirm information from our readers in Uganda and London that the Museveni’s occupation [...]

Katikkiro Walusimbi seems to have opened a can of worms when, in president Museveni style, he injected himself into a love triangle involving a local cosmetics factory owner, a musician and a woman called Nabukeera. A Baganda family who are currently visiting family in Buganda found it so offensive that they sent us an email [...]

According to the government’s official website, www.buganda.or.ug, “preparations for Buganda conference are in full gear and all signs are promising for a successful event.” The conference is to take place on December 17, 2010 and Ssabasajja is expected to appear at the occasion. The venue is Hotel Africana on Jinja Road.
This is the second Buganda [...]

According to an email which was forwarded to info@bugandapost.com by a Boston resident, UNAA is swimming in debt. We have independently confirmed that new UNAA president, Mr. Moses Wilson did send the SOS email telling the organization’s current and past leaders that they were over $50,000 in debt.
Based on Mr. Wilson’s email, it appears like [...]

For the whole month of October and part of November this year, Buganda Post has been the target of numerous cyber attacks. First, malicious software was clandestinely placed on our server, to corrupt our news stories. That was followed by attempts to electronically take over the Buganda Post website. Finally, malicious softer code was inserted [...]
