Ekiba Kibe Joins Bataka, Balangira and Bazzukulu To Warn Katikkiro

Tags: , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , ,

USA Baganda have joined the many forces who are telling Katikkiro JB Walusimbi and other Mmengo officials to be extremely careful about the restoration of the recently burnt Kasubi Tombs. Within 36 hours after the tombs were burnt, the Katikkiro announced that a technical committee had been formed to start planning the restoration of the 130 year Kasubi Tombs. The committee members who names were released later were mostly former Mmengo officials, with no signs of new blood. Kasubi Tombs is the official cemetery for Buganda royal family members (Abalangira n’Abambejja) who descend from Ssekabaka Muteesa I. However,  the Katikkiro made his announcement without consulting this key group. As a result, Abalangira n’Abambejja were forces to release a statement expressing their concern as owners of the tombs (see “Members of Buganda Royal Family Issue Statement on Kasubi – English”).

Various Buganda clan heads and cultural leaders (Abataka) also expressed strong opposition to Mmengo’s plans focus on working with UNESCO and the NRM occupation government to restore the sacred Baganda tombs. They  point out the original tombs were constructed by ordinary Baganda through their clans and each clan has a special task in the process. Yet Katikkiro Walusimbi and many other Mmengo officials are temporary administrators with no technical background in constructing cultural site like the Kasubi Tombs.

Abazzukulu ba Buganda also strongly question Mmengo’s qualifications to restore and ancient cultural structure like Kasubi Tombs. They point out that the Mmengo official who were selected on the restoration committee are the same individuals who have not succeeded on even smaller projects such as completing Twekobe or Bulange Plaza. They also rejected the idea of UNESCO being a key player ( see “Don’t Put Yourself At Risk When Buganda Is Angry, Katikkiro Advised“).

The Great Buganda Lukiiko that sat on March 22, 2010, did not approve Katikkiro Walusimbi’s plans either. Members only agree that the Kasubi Tombs must be repaired as soon as possible.

On Free Buganda Radio, the Ekiba Kibe program of March 25, 2010 Mr. Robert Kabuye and his guest, Mr. Mayanja, also advised Mmengo to leave the repair of Kasubi Tombs to those who are traditionally responsible for the job. They also warn the Katikkiro and his cabinet to take leadership from the clan leaders (Abataka) and others who have an official role in Buganda culture.

kabaka_corontation_09On March 1, 2010, the host of SMS based Ekiba Kibe program told a man who claims to be a Rwandese soldier that, this time, Buganda does not need foreigners to liberate her. Mr. Kabuye was responding after the man called Ntare described himself as a Cuban traine freedom fighter who ready to fight to liberate Buganda. Mr. Kabuye told Mr. Ntare that the problem is that the people of Buganda are not will anymore to trust foreigners to liberate them.

At one point in the interview Mr. Kabuye asked Mr. Ntare: “Okimanyiiko nti Museveni Munyarwanda?” (”Are you aware that Museveni is Rwandese?”). Ntare replied:

“Museveni Munyarwanda kikumi ku kikumi. Njagala mbategeeze nti Museveni ne Kagame bakolera wamu.” (”Museveni is 100% a Rwandese. 1 want you to know that Museveni and Kagame work together.”).

Later in the interview, Ntare said: “I am a Canadian citizen kikumi ku kikumi, ekyokubiri ndi ready okulwanirira Buganda” (”I am a Canadian citizen 1 00%, secondly 1 am ready to fight for Buganda.”). Mr. Kabuye responded: “Awo abantu kyetutakiriziganya nakyo ssebo … Abaganda … bagamba nti eyali alumiddwa ku musota tosobola kusaawo kugulu nga ogulabye.” (”That is where we cannot agree with you sir. .. Abaganda … have a saying that if you were bitten by a snake before, you cannot put your leg forward when you see a snake.”). Mr. Kabuye continued: “Njagala otuwe birowoozo naye tosobola kutulimba nti ogenda okutulwanirira.” (”I want you to just give us your ideas but do not lie to us that you are going to fight for our liberation.”

Mr. Ntare told Ekiba Kibe listners that he is a Canadian citizen who first run to the USA after running into problems with both the NRM and the Rwandan governments. He says that he moved from the USA to Canada because he believed that he can be more secure there.

On February 23, Ntare told Free Buganda Radio listeners that he was a former soldier in both Uganda and Rwanda (see “Rwandese Former Soldier Says Baganda Must Stop Being Cowards“).

bettykamya2On February 7, 2010, the SMS based Ekiba Kibe program which is broadcast on Free Buganda Radio reported that Beti Kamya had been endorsed by  Katikkiro JB Walusimbi to campaign for Federo. The same program then asked Ms. Kamya to explain what the Katikkiro’s endorsement means.  The presenter,  Robert Kabuye of Boston tells Ms. Beti Kamya in Luganda: “MP owa Lubaga North, … Beti Kamya, watugambye eggulo nti wagenze ewa Walusimbi Katikkiro n’akwendosiinga ogende oyigirize Federo… Katikkiro oyo yayimirira mu lukungaana lwa Baganda nagamba nti Abaganda tuleme kweyisa nga bajulizi. Kati nnyabo, MP, gwe olina bukakafu ki nti taveyo naggamba nti oleme kwefula mujulizi?” (“Lubaga North MP, … Beti Kamya, yesterday you told us that you went to Katikkiro Walusimbi and he endorsed you to go teach Federo…. That same Katikkiro told a Baganda meeting that we, Baganda, must stop sacrificing for our nation as if we want to become martyrs. Now, Ms. MP, how do we know that he will not come out and similarly tell you not to sacrifice.”

Kabuye adds: “Bino ebitu tetwelabira. Abaganda aberabira baafa!” (“On these matters, we shall not forget.  The Baganda who forget died a long time ago.”)

UDII Members Respond To Baganda UN Demonstration Story

Tags: , , , , , , , , , , , , , ,

Members of Ugandan In Diaspora International, Inc. (UDII not UIDI) have responded to our story on the January 26, 2010 Buganda liberation demonstrations at the UN (see “Anti-Museveni Diaspora Organization Faces Accusations of Deception“).

Mr. James Semakula did not participate in the UDII response. US Army Lt. Frank Musis responded on February 1, 2010 (see “Lt. Musisi Responds To Images Story, Does Not Disown UIDI Or Its Tactics“).

Below we reproduce the UDII response, which was sent by Mr. James Kabonge, without any editing.

In response to Buganda Post dated January 28, 2010.

http://www.bugandapost.com/main/archives/1307

We; James Kabonge, Michael Muganga, Kawunde Miti, Fred Kambugu and Dennis Nnyondo , categorically deny the wild, baseless allegations levied against us in the above meritless article.

1. First, UDII has always organized its own events and has never purported or claimed to organize events other than its own. Examples of UDII events:

       http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t2wgrSNxVeU

       http://www.crestedjournal.com/news/36-in-the-news/320-ugandans-petition-to-usgovernment-over-human-rights-abuse

       http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8LUrtwiaCSM

2.  However, we have been invited to and participated in events organized by others in our individual capacities and in some cases as a group. In the same spirit of solidarity with other Ugandan pro-democracy activists and groups, we have accorded their (activists and groups) announcements and events the wider audience we enjoy, via email and other media, still without us claiming or implying authorship and duly recognizing the specific organizers when not ourselves.

NOTE: JESUS CHRIST SAID, “FOR WHOEVER IS NOT AGAINST US IS ON OUR SIDE”- MARK 9:40

3.  In our efforts to secure democracy and human rights in Uganda, we welcome and encourage others individuals and groups to struggle for the same goal, without fighting each other. Still, we have neither worked with Olara Otunnu nor sought/gotten any financial or political gain from his group or any other entity. As dedicated patriots, we’re not in this struggle for personal gain whatsoever and therefore, we have not been and will not be compromised in any form or way by any person or entity.

4.  Any photographs or videos taken at such public events are the sole property of the person or organization that takes them. That individual or organization can distributes such material in any legal way. The inscriptions on the photographs help those seeking to use them to promote our cause where to get them. The inscription does not suggest in any way or form that the photographer or organization he represents organized the event. For instance, VOA and not UDII own the videos in item 1 above even though these videos were taken at a UDII organized event.

5.  We also want to let everyone know that the “master and his agents” are at work to divide and rule Ugandans both within Uganda and in the Diaspora with a major focus on the Bagandas by creating unfounded stories and conflicts. Despite the attempts by the “master and his agents” to antagonize our efforts to liberate Uganda from the NRM regime, we are going to stay focused and strong.

6.  We want all the peace-loving Ugandans not to lose sight of our enemy and to ignore this attempted assault on the solidarity of Ugandan opposition groups. The sooner we stop fighting each other and re-direct our energies to defeating Museveni and NRM, the better for our country!

7. Finally, we want to express our disappointment in Robert Kabuye of Boston for falling prey to the master’s tricks, for broadcasting information and thus defaming us without any basis. Despite the fact that our contact information is widely available, neither Buganda Post nor Robert Kabuye cared to seek our comments before publicizing those malicious allegations.

8. Outside the law, this is the first and last statement that we will make jointly on this issue.

Awangaale Ssabasajja Kabaka wa Buganda.

Buganda Post On Both Twitter and Facebook

Tags: , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , ,

BuPost_136A few months ago, Buganda Post was the victim of unknown electronic hooligans, who hacked and corrupted our databases (see  “Buganda Post Hacked By Unknown Hooligans” and “NRM Might Be Behind The Attacks On Baganda Web News Outlets“). We still do not know who did it and why but we notice that the same or similar cyber thugs are still attempting to hijack Buganda Post.

To get a long-term solution to the above problem, the Buganda Post website is undergoing a full redesign.  We expect to launch the redesigned Buganda Post site by March 2010.

The redesigned Buganda Post will be more professionally laid out and with better opportunities for Buganda citizens and others interested in the kingdom to exchange information and ideas.  We are doing our best to make sure to keep the familiar, simple look and color scheme of Buganda Post , even as we add more features. For example, we have already put Buganda Post on both Twitter and Facebook.  Another example is that Buganda Post will include a few blogs, where some of our readers will be able to freely express their opinions on issues that are important to Buganda. If you are interested in having your own blog on Buganda Post, please contact me at pnakato@bugandapost.com – only 2-4 blogs will initially be included.

Beti Kamya In Boston Baganda Meeting As Rugunda Bribes Youths With Free Beer

Tags: , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , ,

According  to the January 22, 2010 Ekiba Kibe program, broadcast on the SMS based Freed Buganda Radio, Betty Kamya, the popular Muganda politician will attend today’s Buganda liberation conference in Boston, USA.  Mr. Kabuye told his listeners that Betty Kamya,  Lubaga North MP in a Museveni’s parliament and founder of the Uganda Federal Alliance, would be the keynote speaker at the Buganda independence conference. The conference is organized by Ggwanga Mujje Boston and has attracted delegates from Canada, California, New York, Washington DC, Washington State,  Uganda, Europe and other places.

In a related development, during the above broadcast, Mr. Kabuye and his studio guest, one Mr. Lennard Muwonge Mukasa of New Jersey, told the listeners that  Brother Panas Bugembe and the  NRM’s Ruhakana Rugunda had quickly organized a “free food and drinks” party to pull away youths from Baganda meetings that are taking place in Boston and New York ( Buganda Post has seen an email indicating that the Ggwangamujje NY/NJ association general  meeting is also taking place this Saturday in the New York area).  In effect, Bugembe and Rugunda are using  Uganda taxpayer money to bribe youths with beer and food so that they stay away from Baganda events.  Buganda Post will inform our readers about the Baganda who are accepting the Bugembe/bribes bribes and attending the NRM function.

To listen to Mr. Kabuye and Mr. Muwonge in their the  January 22, 2010 Ekiba Kibe broadcast, click on Ekiba_Kibe22Jan10A. Apparently, at the time of the broadcast Mr. Kabuye and Mr. Muwonge were returning from Buganda independence demonstrations in Washington DC. Mr. Muwonge indicated that the Washington demonstrations has received strong media coverage, including from Voice of America. Another Buganda liberation demonstration will take place on January 26, 2010, the commemorate the armed occupation of Buganda by Balaalo led Ugandans. It will be at the UN headquarters in New York.

Ekiba Kibe MMS Radio Program Resurrects “Bu”

Tags: , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , ,

In his recent broadcasts of Ekiba Kibe program, Mr. Robert Kabuye of Boston has been use the abbreviation Bu in reference to the Buganda nation.  The same abbreviation was used for about 20 year, starting in the 1920s, by the Buganda independence movement called Abataka Bu.  It is not yet clear if the use of Bu on Ekiba Kibe program is in anyway related to efforts to resurrect the Abataka Bu party. However, Mr. Kabuye has frequently made it clear that goal (omulamwa) of the SMS based Freed Buganda Radio and its Ekiba Kibe program is Buganda liberation and independence.

Mmengo Is Unqualified To Fight For Buganda, Diaspora MMS Radio Says

Tags: , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , ,

museveniandwalusimbiThe January 6, 2010 Ekiba Kibe program, which is broadcast to cellular telephones via multi-media message service (MMS), has accused Mmengo of incompetence and appealed to Baganda to realize that they do not need to rely on Mmengo to fight for Buganda’s rights and freedom. Boston based Robert Kabuye, who presented the Luganda program, challenged Mmengo to explain why they allowed themselves to be hoodwinked and humiliated by Museveni and his half-brother Salim Saleh over the land bill. He questioned their seriousness and sincerity when, after the bill had been passed and signed, they claim that they were still examining it.

Kabuye tells Katikkiro Walusimbi and others with like minds: “Abantu abali e Mmengo abatulyaamu enkwe, tukooye. Enough is enough! Tukoye abantu abakolelera Katonda n’embuto zaabwe…. Lwaaki mututunda nga tulaba?” (”To those of you in Mmengo, who are betraying us, we are fed up. Enough is enough! We are fed up with people who work for ‘God and my stomach’…. How can you betray us in broad daylight?”).  And to the ordinary citizens of Buganda Kabuye says: “Temutya, temugwaamu maanyi, ffe tujja. Tujja gawanye! Tujja kununula Buganda mu mateeka.” (Do not fear or  get discouraged, we are coming. We are coming in full force! We shall liberate Buganda, legally.”)

Yesterday’s Ekiba Kibe program also gives some brotherly advice to  Museveni’s vice president, Gilbert Bukenya: “Era Bukenya tukusaasidde. Tuwe ebyaama nga tebanakutta. Kati ogwo mulambo ogutambula. Bagenda kutta esaawa yonna!” (“We are sorry for you Bukenya. Give us [Museveni’s] secrets before they kill you. Because he is now a walking dead.  You will be killed any time”).
