Radio Free Buganda Makes History, Broadcasts Live From Butambala

Tags: , , , , , , , , , , , ,

BugandaRadioEquipBoston USA based Radio Free Buganda made history when the commemoration of Kabaka Mutebi’s coronation live from the Butambala County  for at least 4 hours on Friday and Saturday.  The RFB broadcasts were especially important because, according to our sources in broadcasting, the NRM occupation government’s Robert Kabushenga ordered all major new organizations in Uganda not to report on the huge crowds in Butambala. Bukedde was allowed to report on the Kabaka’s tour of Butambala but not to include crowd sizes or live pictures. So, Free Buganda Radio was the only totally channel independent of the NRM occupation government that reported the celebrations live.

The local correspondent on the ground, Eddie Mulyanyamumwa, who was speaking live on www.ekibakibe.com by phone said:  “Nze simanyi nnyo kubala bantu, naye kirabika abantu bassuka emitwaalo nga ena” (“I am not an expert at counting people but it appears that there are at least 40,000 people”).

The Kabaka was officially welcomed by the Butambala County chief, Twaha Lwanyaga, who introduced all the remaining 17 county chiefs. Other important Buganda figures present included the Katikkiro JB Walusimbi, princes and princesses, Buganda cabine members, Omutaka Nakirembeka, Alan Waliggo, all the Gombolola chiefs in Butambala and many others.

The Radio Free Buganda anchor in Boston, Mr. Robert Kabuye, inserted some humor in the long broadcast during the prayers. This is when one Reverend Matovu prayed for NRM’s president Museveni for “restoring the Buganda Kingdom”. Upset by the NRM propaganda from Reverend Matovu, Mr. Kabuye inserted his voice in the feed from Butambala and said: “Eyo esaala esabira Museveni atta abantu? Oyo omusumba wa NRM. ” (“A prayer for Museveni   who is killing people? That clergyman is an NRM.”)

Questions As Moses Wilson Thanks Kabaka’s Representatives

Tags: , , , , , , , , , , , , , ,

moses_wilson1Yesterday, we published a copy of the press release that Kabaka’s representatives in North America issued on July 23,  2010, in connection within UNAA (see “Kabaka’s Representatives Send Intriguing Press Release On UNAA”). The representatives said that they had received an “official communication from the Buganda Kingdom Administration”, but never indicated if it was the Kabaka, the Katikkiro or another person in the Buganda Kingdom  who sent it to them.   Surprisingly, only a few hours later, the Chairman of NRM backed UNAA, Moses Wilson, issued his own press release thanking the Kabaka’s representatives for their press release.

Since Wednesday, our sources in Boston, Washington DC and California were reporting  to us ongoing conference calls and arguments between Kabaka’s representatives, UNAA organizers and certain political activists about the Katikkiro’s letter of July 20, 2010. In fact, it appears as if  the press release by the Kabaka’s representatives intentionally avoided mentioning Katikkiro as a compromise with certain political interests. The very quick and thankful from Mr. Wilson only served to raise more questions about the loyalty of Kabaka’s representatives to Kabaka and Buganda.  One question is why Mr. Wilson, who saw the Katikkiro’s letter on Wednesday is pretending that it is the Kabaka representatives are the ones who clarified Buganda’s position.  Another question is whether Moses Wilson and Fred Kalema-Musoke sincerely believe that Buganda would not be participating in UNAA as stated in the Katikkiro’s letter, even if the current occupant of the Nnabagereka institution attends.

Some of these and other questions were also raised by Mr. Robert Kabuye on his www.EkibaKibe.com 1:30 PM radio program (July 25, 2010).  One question is, why the representatives did not report the Katikkiro’s message for 3 days. Robert Kabuye complained directly to the Katikkiro, asking: “Ababaka bakikirira ani?” (“Who do the Kabaka’s representatives represent?”). He explained that the representatives were elected by Baganda in their individual areas but they are now serving themselves, even censoring Katikkiro messages to us. According to Mr. Kabuye, many of his www.EkibaKibe.com listeners also want the Buganda Government delegation to come to Ttabamiruka ’10 prepared to explain the purpose of Kabaka’s representatives and why some behaving rebelliously. He added that the theme his radio for the whole of next week will be the Kabaka’s representatives and who they serve.

We reproduced Moses Wilson’s message without editing below:

Subject: [UNAANET] Nnabagereka to present UNAA Key Note Speech

 Community Members,

I would like to express my appreciate to Ssabasajja Kabaka’s
Representatives in the US and Canada for their recent clarification of the
position of the Government of Buganda relative to the upcoming UNAA
convention in Washington, DC. Some confusion had arisen as to exactly who
from the Kingdom was going to the UNAA convention in Washington, DC, and
who was going to the Ttabamiruka Convention in New Jersey.

In their official communication, the Kabaka’s Representatives very clearly
stated that the Government of Buganda was not sending representatives or
participating in the UNAA convention due to various ongoing issues in the
Kingdom.

However, the UNAA Board of Directors is pleased to announce that it has
received confirmation that HRH Sylvia Nnaginda, Nnabagereka of Buganda,
will lead a delegation comprised of representatives from the Uganda Cancer
Research Foundation and the Nnabagereka Development Foundation to the UNAA
Convention in Washington, DC, where she will deliver the Key Note Speech.

Convention and Hotel Registration information can be found on the official
UNAA website (www.unaa.org)

Sincerely,

Moses R. Wilson

UDII Takes On UNAA With Another Convention in Washington DC

Tags: , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , ,

Ugandans in the Diaspora International Inc.  (UDII) has taken steps that will guarantee hot Uganda style political battles in Washington DC come September. The organization, which was created by UNAA members who supported Capt. Frank Musisi during the last UNAA elections, has announced that they will organize their own Ugandan convention in Washington DC, on September 3–5, 2010. This puts them in direct competition with the NRM sponsored UNAA convention a few miles away. Buganda Post has received a few emails from USA based readers with the UDII convention announcement. Another Ugandan conference on the same weekend is organized by UADA in Boston (see “Competition Between UNAA and UADA Heats Up, Ssenkumba Accused of Hiding In Bu”). UADA was formed by another UNAA election loser, and NRM man Flex Kabuye. However, it was later taken over by a then well financed supporter of Capt. Frank Musisi, Mr. William Senkumba fof Los Angeles. In another twist, Mr.Senkumba hurriedly left California for Bu weeks ago leaving most decision making in the hands of Nixon Andama, Ruth Kobusingye and Alan Rwabogo.

In addition to the above Ugandan convetions, the Baganda also have Ttabamiruka ’10, a conference which is organized and sponsored by Ggwangamujje NY/NJ. Based on the information from www.ttabamiruka.com, the Baganda conference is focused on Buganda and Baganda issues.

As of early February, the principals in UDII were Messrs James Kabonge, Michael Muganga, Kawunde Miti, Fred Kambugu and Dennis Nnyondo, all Baganda Boston (see “UDII Members Respond To Baganda UN Demonstration Story”). The official UDII site, www.ugandansinthediaspora.org does not provide any information on the current leadership or membership of the organization.

The UDII conference announcement is reproduced below without editing.

Ugandans in the Diaspora International Inc. (UDII)

Washington D. C. Labor Day Weekend Conference

Ugandans in the Diaspora International Inc. is organizing a conference on Labor Day weekend – September 3rd – 5th, 2010 at the Westin Washington National Harbor Hotel, in Washington, D.C.

The theme is “The Urgent Need to Effect Political Change in Uganda”

Key topics that will be discussed at the conference include:

1. The current political situation in Uganda in light of the upcoming elections

2. The abuse of the electoral system, and criminalization of the political system

3. Human right abuses

4. The relationship between the Ugandan and the American Governments

5. The massive corruption and misuse of U.S. and other foreign aid to Uganda

The US government has been one of the biggest supporters of the Uganda regime for over 20 years. Without this critical support, the regime would not have survived for the two decades that it has been in power. However, there are now welcome signs that this unconditional support is far from being a permanent fixture. These signs include recent public pronouncements by the US government on democratic governance in Uganda.

Per announcements on Ugandan internet discussion groups, the Uganda government is preparing a massive lobbying effort in Washington, D. C., during and following the UNAA Convention, largely in response to actions taken by the current U.S. Administration, and Congress. The Uganda Government is sending a big delegation to the UNAA Convention which will stay behind after the event to continue its lobbying efforts, at Uganda taxpayer expense, especially with regards to next year’s elections in Uganda. A demonstration against this extravagancy is planned to take place during the conference in Washington, D.C.

It is therefore incumbent on the Ugandans in the United States to inform, educate and prepare the Washington DC establishment about the true nature of the situation in Uganda. This conference is part of this effort. The conference will bring together experts from various organizations, both private and public to discuss the Uganda political situation in detail. UDII will make arrangements for various opposition members attending the Convention to meet with key people in Washington DC to explore how the U.S. government can strengthen the opposition in Uganda in order to foster true democracy in Uganda.

A conference program will be forthcoming. If you plan to attend, please reserve a room at the Westin Washington National Harbor Hotel, phone number, 1-888-627-8104 http://www.starwoodmeeting.com/Book/UGI03A

In preparation for the Conference, please read NRM’s original Ten-Point Program, available on several websites.

Muliika Head Of New Ugandan Political Organization, Press Release By Ggwanga Mujje Boston

Tags: , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , ,

<br />According to unsigned press release from the leaders of Ggwanga Mujje Boston, former Buganda Katikkiro Muliika is the leader of a new Uganda political group committed to ousting the president of the NRM occupation government. The press release was issued at what was widely advertised on Free Buganda Radio as a Buganda liberation conference (“Olukiiko lw’Okununula Obuganda”). The publicity brochure for the conference clearly stated that the purpose of the conference was (a) the progress made so far on the work of liberating Buganda and (b) how to deal with the coming 2011 elections. However, the press release the press release says: “The purpose of the meeting was to launch Ggwanga Mujje International.”

The press release also states that: “At the end of the conference Mr. Muliika was elected President-General of Ggwanga Mujje International by acclamation.” However, it does not say if Ggwanga Mujje chapters in other cities officially endorsed the idea of a Ugandan anti-Museveni political party called Ggwanga Mujje International. What is clear is that some Baganda nationalists who insist on liberating Buganda from Ugandan occupation were disappointed that former Katikkiro Muliika has joined the anti-Buganda Ugandan politics. One of them sent to us a copy of yesterday’s Ekiba Kibe program saying that she supports Mr. Robert Kabuye’s campaign that Baganda should stay away from Museveni’s NRM elections.

The May 1, 2010 Buganda/Uganda conference also, in its press release, urged the Nnabagereka: “to refrain from participating in the functions of the Uganda North America Associations (UNAA).

Click on Ekiba_Kibe10May10A to listen to the full Ekiba Kibe program. The Ggwanga Mujje Boston press release is reproduced in full below:

Ggwanga Mujje International is born

On May 1, 2010, members of Ggwanga Mujje convened in a mammoth meeting at 920 Trapello Rd in Waltham Massachusetts. The purpose of the meeting was to launch Ggwanga Mujje International. The keynote speaker was Owek. Dan Muliika retired Katikkiro of Buganda. Mr. Muliika gave a rousing speech about political freedom and federalism in Uganda.

Addressing the delegates who came mainly from New York, New Jersey, Illinois, California and, of course, the whole of Massachusetts, the retired Katikkiro declared amidst a thunderous applause of the delegates: “Human rights are not for negotiation; they inherently belong to the people. The right to self-determination is recognized by international law. Therefore we cannot beg the leaders to give us a federal system of government. We must assert our right as a sovereign people to determine our destiny and the system of government we want and deserve.”

After the keynote speech the audience was given a chance to ask questions. Most people expressed sadness about political repression going on in their motherland. They cited rampart corruption that has further impoverished the poor while enriching the corrupt in government. The consensus was that a federal system of government is the best solution to Uganda’s perennial problems.

At the end of the conference Mr. Muliika was elected President-General of Ggwanga Mujje International by acclamation. His primary mission is to educate Ugandans about federalism and political freedom.

The Conference passed resolutions to concretize and implement the ideas, proposals and suggestions raised and discussed at the conference:

We members of Ggwanga Mujje committed to the full restoration of political freedom and the establishment of federal system of governance in Uganda do hereby

1. Re-affirm our previous resolution that Museveni and his corrupt regime must be removed from power in Uganda in order for true democracy to take root in the nation, including the establishment of a mechanism that unconditionally guarantees to all citizens of the country internationally verifiable, free and fair elections.

2. Reenact our previous resolutions to raise funds by starting with ourselves who are gathered here today. The funds so raised, will be supplemented by others sources, and will be mainly spent directly on financing civic education in Buganda and in other parts of Uganda about the benefits of federal governance for the whole of Uganda.

3. Unanimously elect by acclamation retired Katikkiro of Buganda, Owek. Dan Muliika, to represent us in Buganda and to spearhead our efforts to achieve our political goals in Buganda and Uganda, and hereby pledge to support him and his team to the full extent of our collective abilities.

4. Declare the creation of Ggwanga Mujje International which will be headed by Owek. Dan Muliika as a vehicle for achieving our objectives.

5. Note with appreciation the long standing practice of the political neutrality of the His Majesty the Kabaka of Buganda and his official members of the Royal Palace, and urge the Nnabagereka to refrain from participating in the functions of the Uganda North America Associations (UNAA).

Story About Nnabagereka Going To UNAA Is Bogus, Robert Kabuye

Tags: , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , ,

nnabagereka_1Radio Free Buganda has clarified that the announcement by Moses Wilson that Nnabagereka Sylvia Nnagginda will be the keynote speaker at UNAA Washington is bogus. In the April 18, 2010 Ekiba Kibe programme, the anchorman, Mr. Robert Kabuye, explained that Wilson’s announcement is a scam to help UNAA register Baganda. Kabuye said:  “Abakulu abamu abategeka kwekuli omukulu eyeyita omulangira, Kalema Musoke, omukulu eyeyita family ya Kabaka, Moses Wilson, omukulu eyeyita Zabasaja nga ye Zabasaida, ne mukyala we. Bagenda bagamba abantu ku Facebook nti Maama wa Buganda y’agenda okubeera omugenyi omukulu mu bintu byaabwe ebya Museveni ebya UNAA. Teli atakimanyi nti UNAA ya Museveni. Era bazeemu okukozesa obukodyo bwebumu obwa Museveni.” (“Some of the oreganizers are Kalema Musoke, who says he is a prince, Moses Wilson, who claims to be a close relative of the Kabaka, Mr. Zabasaida, who calls himself Zabasaja and his wife. They tell people on Facebook that the mother of Buganda will be the chief guest at Museveni’s UNAA. Everyone knows that Museveni owns UNAA. They have started to use Museveni’s dirty tactics once again.”

Kabuye asks: “Lwaaki temulanga muka Museveni nti yajja? Lwaaki muyingirira byaffe ebya Buganda? Mwagala otukubya emizimu emiggo!” (“Why don’t you use Mrs. Museveni? Why do you meddle in Buganda affairs? Do you want the spirits of Buganda ancestors to punish us?”) He tells the UNAA team to stop spreading  false stories about the Nnabagereka and to stay out of Buganda affairs. Kabuye advises them to invite Mrs. Museveni. According to Mr. Kabuye’s, when they play with the Nnabagereka name, they are massaging the lion’s teeth. Finally The he demands that Omulangira Kalema Musoke must make clear where his loyalty is – Buganda or UNAA – and assures his listerners that Abaana ba Kintu will certainly stop the dirty tacktics against the Nnabagereka. MR. Kabuye vows to stop any attempt to connect the Nnabagereka institution with UNAA.

Diaspora Baganda Concerned About Nnabagereka Going To UNAA

Tags: , , , , , , , , , , , , , , ,

We have received several inquiries and complaints about a press release that is circulating on the Internet and announcing that the mother of Buganda, Nnabagereka Sylvia Nnagginda, will be the key note speaker at the 2010 UNAA convention in Washington DC, USA. The press release came from the email of Moses Wilson the president of UNAA.

To honor the Nnabagereka institution, Buganda Post shall not publish any of the very strong opinions that Baganda may express about Mr. Wilson’s press release.  However, we can report that some Baganda in USA are extremely concerned that, after failing to compromise Kabaka Mutebi, the NRM is using the UNAA to set up his wife for a major embarrassment. The NRM is the UNAA’s biggest funder and Perez Kamunanirwe, NRM’s ambassador in the USA and Kabaka’s representatives in the USA engineered the deal for UNAA.

If Nnabagereka Sylvia Nnagginda goes to the UNAA convention in Washington DC, she could land in the middle of the increasingly controversial politics of Uganda American community, which is fast breaking apart. During the 2009 UNAA convention in Chicago, there was strong evidence of NRM style vote manipulation. Besides vote theft, the NRM government flew over 300 operatives to the USA to vote for Moses Wilson.  Besides the election problems at UNAA Chicago, Baganda made Mrs. Museveni extremely and visibly angry when they told her that her she and her husband were the most corrupt presidential family they had ever seen.

Wilson’s win split the UNAA organization into camps of Frank Musisi and Flex Kabuye supporters. Later, new organizations to compete with UNAA were created, including UADA and UDII. Many other Baganda simply woke up and totally abandoned UNAA/NRM style politics and joined the movement to liberate Buganda (“Buli mbuzi ku nkondo yaayo”).  Recently UADA announced that they would hold their own convention in Boston on the same dates as UNAA.  And most Baganda fed up with UNAA/NRM are expected to go Ttabamiruka ’10 because it focuses on Buganda issues.

PRESS RELEASE

HRH Sylvia Nagginda, Nnabagereka of Buganda, to give Key Note Speech at

2010 UNAA Convention in Washington, DC

The Ugandan North American Association (UNAA) is pleased to announce that the Key Note Speaker at its upcoming 22nd Annual Convention in Washington DC will be Her Royal Highness Sylvia Nagginda, Nnabagereka of Buganda.

The Nnabagereka is the Patron of the Uganda Cancer Research Foundation and will be leading a delegation from this organization that will host a forum on its work at the UNAA Convention on Saturday September 4th, 2010.

HRH Sylvia Nagginda, The Nnabagereka of Buganda

The restoration of the Kabakaship in 1993 heralded the genesis of a new Buganda. It gave the Baganda a new sense of purpose and a vision towards a common future. The Nnabagereka (Her Royal Highness, the Queen), who is the wife of the Kabaka (King of Buganda), is considered the mother of the Kingdom and a symbol of unity for the Baganda.

There is a new and significant role HRH Sylvia Nagginda, as the wife of the Kabaka, has to play in the Kingdom. Since there had never been an office of the Nnabagereka, its inception in September 1999 was a new and very crucial phenomenon.  The Nnabagereka has a mission to lead a meaningful resuscitation of human, family and traditional values and sustained improvement in the social and economic welfare of the people. As a “mother” of the Baganda, the Nnabagereka spearheads the task of encouraging, sensitizing and mobilizing the general population.

HRH Sylvia Nagginda belongs to the Musu clan (Wild Rat) and comes from the Sebugwawo family in Nkumba-Entebbe. She was born in the United Kingdom and studied in both Uganda and the United States of America where she lived for more than 18 years before returning to Uganda to become wife to the Kabaka in 1999

HRH Sylvia Nagginda is the first Nnabagereka (Queen) in the history of the Buganda Kingdom to set up a fully-fledged Office, a very crucial phenomenon that has greatly complimented the ongoing development work in the Kingdom and Uganda at large. Her main focus areas are early childhood care and development; education for the girl child; vocational training and employment for the youth; empowerment of women, health issues particularly regarding the prevention and cure of childhood diseases, nutrition, and sexual reproductive health including the prevention of HIV/AIDS.  Touched by the expanding impact of cancer on the people in Uganda, especially among children and women, HRH is shining new light on the fight against this disease.

A pillar of development, Her Royal Highness established the Nnabagereka Development Foundation (NDF) in 2000. The Foundation is a charitable Non-Governmental Organization whose mission is to restore the vitality of Buganda and Uganda at large by marshaling community and household human resources for social and economic development. The Nnabagereka is a Patron of several organizations including the Christian Children’s Fund (CCF) Uganda, Special Olympics Uganda, Conservation Through Public Health (CTPH), and the Uganda Cancer Research Foundation (UCRF), for which she is also a Founder Member and Patron.  She is also a Good Will Ambassador for the United Nations Fund for Population Activities (UNFPA).

Held in high esteem and commanding a lot of respect among Ugandans, the Nnabagereka has worked passionately to fulfill her vision of uplifting the people’s standards of living. She has played a major role in sensitizing and mobilizing the general population on issues of education, health, poverty eradication, culture preservation, and has graciously supported and empowered marginalized groups as the youth, women and persons with disabilities.

Ssabasajja Kabaka’s Easter Message

Tags: , , , , , , ,

Kabaka_Mutebi_small2Kabaka Ronald Muwenda Mutebi II has congratulated all Christians upon the completion of the holly lent period.  Below is his full message, released by the Buganda national government:

We congratulate all Christians upon having completed the holy period of lent.

We thank the lord for the gift of life which has helped us reach this glorious day of Easter.

The lent has been a period of counseling and renewing our relationship with God and to that of our fellow people.

Every one of us is a witness of what is currently happening in our country, we are very, very much worried and it is not a good symbol to the country.

And for that matter, despite the end of the lent period, Christians should continue praying to God so that He strengthens their faith for the good of our country.

I wish you all a happy Easter.

God Bless you.

Rwandese Soldier Returns To Ekiba Kibe, Talks About Kasubi

Tags: , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , ,

In late February and early March 2010, a man called Ntare told listeners of SMS based Ekiba Kibe program that he is a former Rwandese soldier both in Uganda and Rwanda, who is now a Canadian citizen (see “Rwandese Former Soldier Says Baganda Must Stop Being Cowards” and “We Don’t Want You To Fight For Us, Kabuye Tells Rwandese Soldier”). He warned Baganda that Museveni intended to destroy Buganda. On March 26, 2010, Ekiba Kibe’s Robert Kabuye brought Ntare back to the Free Buganda Radio studios to discuss the burning of Buganda’s sacred Kasubi Tombs.

Ntare, claimed that Museveni is the one who burnt the Kasubi tombs and explained that Museveni’s reasons for doing it are (1) to hit Buganda enough to kill all her strength (“ayagala abakube abamalemu amaanyi”), (2) he is testing to see if your are still united (“abagezaako amanyi alabe oba mukyaali wamu”). Mr. Kabuye then asked Ntare why Baganda must trust him: “Why should we trust you; right now we are not even willing to shake your hand. How do we know you are not Museveni’s agent?” (“Tunakwesiga tutya; kubanga kati tetusobola nakukwaata mu ngalo. Tukwesiga tutya nti toli agent wa Museveni?”). Ntare claimed that his goal is to fight injustices as a freedom fighter. But he also admitted that there was no reason why Mr. Kabuye should trust him.

Ntare also said Museveni is using “divide and rule” to confuse Baganda.. Ntare told Mr. Kabuye Museveni will keep bribing certain Baganda to create problems for strong Baganda nationalists. If that fails Museveni will try to directly try to bribe the same Baganda nationalists. And if that fails, he will use murder.

Tens of Thousands Of Baganda Coming To Kasubi In Show of Power

Tags: , , , , , , , , , , , , , , ,

going_kasubi_prayersThousands of Baganda responded to Mmengo’s call to mourn starting late last week. Mostly strating around Monday they have been wearing tee shirts with “Gutusinze Ssabasajja (“We apologize Ssabasajja”) slogans. Tis is the way to tell the Kabaka that we Baganda are embarrassed that some envious and hateful people set fire on Kasubi and we werer unable to prevent it. Others have dressed in black and put on arm bands that are either black or bark cloth (lubugo) or a combination of the two. By Thursday, some men in Makerere University, Nakulabye and other Kampala surburbs were walking around in kanzus with bark cloth wraps (bimyu) walking around or showing off.

The women, especially the younger ones, have used the mourning period to make a fashion statement. Hundreds have been driving around in mourning tee shirts won in various styles. And many others have incorporated strings or bands of bark cloth in their hair styles. A few even used cowry shells (ensimbi enganda) to make beads  or other articles that represent the time of mourning.

On Thursday night the atmosphere in Kampala was calm but tense. Sources have told this reporter that the NRM government appears not to be sure of what to expect at the Friday prayers , which will conclude the official mourning period that was announced by Mmengo. However, the evidence on the ground is that tens of thousands of Baganda from all corners of the kingdom will come to join their beloved Kabaka at Kasubi today. Buganda analysts agree that huge crowds of Baganda expected at Kasubi will show the NRM occupation government and other enemies that the nation of Buganda is stronger than ever even under occupation.

According to Buganda government sources, Kabaka’s royal guards (Abambowa) will handle security inside the tombs perimeter and the NRM occupation police force will be on the outside. However, sources in Nakulabye told this writer that the NRM occupation government has deployed hundreds of plain clothes militias to mingle with the crowds, in the hope of finding out  if there is some type of command structure among the growing number of Baganda nationalists.

The sorrowful ecumenical services  are expected to start at 10:00 AM after the arrival of the Lion of Buganda KIngdom, Ssabasajja Kabaka, Muwenda Mutebi II.
