The March 9, 2010 Ekiba Kibe program on Free Buganda Radio announced that there will be a Buganda liberation demonstration in New York on March 12, 2010. The presenter is Mr. Robert Kabuye told his listeners to also start spending at least 5 seconds of quite time every Friday at noon remembering that Buganda is in occupation.
Mr. Kabuye said in Luganda that all Baganda who love their nation and others who support Buganda should have a 5-second moment of silence every Friday at noon and remember the occupation by saying: “Gutusinze. Ekikute obudde kiributa. Wangaala Musota” (“We apologize for the situation [to Kabaka]. The dark cloud [on our life] will disappear one day. Long Live Musota [Kabaka]”). Mr. Kabuye reminds his listeners that Buganda has been under occupation since May 24, 1966 and asks them to be confident that they can govern themselves.

A man who claimed to be a Rwandese former soldier in both Uganda and Rwanda, went on SMS based Free Buganda Radio and called on Baganda to wake up and liberate their country Buganda. Without giving many details, the Rwandese talked in Luganda about the experiences of Rwandese refugees in Uganda and how they fought to take power in their country. He encouraged Baganda to wake up to the reality that their fight would even be much easier because they have many technology advantages, especially the internet and modern communications. He warned that Museveni only works on the basis of lying and betraying others. Without going into details, the Rwandese claimed that Museveni made do a lot things after making promises to them only to betray them.
The mysterious Rwandese told Robert Kabuye on Ekiba Kibe program that his name is Ntare which means a lion in Kinyarwanda. Ntare said that, while in Mr. Museveni’s NRA, he served in Lubiri, Katabi, Mbarara, Toro, the North, and other places.
Asked by Mr. Kabuye if Buganda can liberate herself since she is much bigger than Rwanda, Ntare replied in Luganda: “Abaganda muli bangi era mwesobola. Musomye, mulina sente, mulina abaana, mulina baakapu mu nsi yonna… Muve mu kutya.” (”You Baganda have a large population and are very capable. You are well educated, have money, have children, and have a based around the world… You must stop being cowards!”).

This morning, a source in Boston forwarded a fresh broadcast of Robert Kabuye’s Luganda Ekiba Kibe SMS program to us. The broadcast tells Baganda to wake up and start thinking about Buganda first. Kabuye first tells his listeners about the recent demonstrations in Washington DC and New York against Yoweri Museveni, the Uganda warlord and president. Kabuye observes that Baganda are alone in all recent demonstrations against Museveni because there are on the receiving end of Museveni’s oppression. He said: “They are oppressing us only because we are Baganda, because Buganda is our homeland and we are Baganda. Only if they could convince God to take us away from Buganda, then we would accept God to move us.”
In a charismatic loud voice Kabuye, points out that all Ugandan past and present rulers come to Buganda with nothing but go on to amass wealth by looting Buganda. He concludes by saying: “Kati tulwanirira Buganda. Tusoke tweyambe, tuyambe abalala. Twabayamba, tebamatidde, tebatusanyukidde, tebatusiimye, batusasudde kutubonyabonya!” (“It is time to fight for Buganda. Let’s help ourselves before we help the others. We have helped them [in the past but] they are not content, they are not happy, they do not appreciate [and] they are paying us with oppression.”)
