Through an email dated April 10, 2010, the Chairman of Ggwanga Mujje Boston thanked Omulangira Mr. Kimbugwe-Kalema for the high-tech investigation he described in an August 7, 2010 email (see “Son of Kabaka’s Representative Says He Used USA Intelligence To Spy On Baganda”).  Omulangira Michael Kimbugwe-Kalema described how he worked with friends in the USA Intelligence community to get what he called proof that two Washington DC Baganda, Mr. Kabonge and Mr. Kambugu wrote the two emails which viciously attacked the Nnabagereka earlier.

Awangaale Ssabasajja ne Nnabagereka agereke o’Buganda

On June 21, 2010, Buganda Post published reports that certain supporters of  Ugandan political parties and factions in the USA conspired to circulate a fake email attacking the Nnabagereka of Buganda, Sylvia Nagginda (see “Uganda Politicians in USA Join To Attack Nnabagereka“).  Our latest information suggests that the sender is in fact a lady member of a small team of individuals mostly including sympathizers of Olara Otuunu, Besigye, DP and UNAA/NRM  and DP (the Uganda First Click). Their common interest is limiting the Buganda nationalist movement.

In the meantime, in his June 22, 2010 Ekiba Kibe program, Mr. Robert Kabuye owe Boston  spoke about the fake and disgraceful email. Without revealing details, Mr. Kabuye said that his engineers had found out that the internet IP address on the fake email was used to send out UNAA convention emails before.  Mr. Kabuye’s information is in line with the recent findings by Buganda Post technical volunteers (see “Uganda Politicians in USA Join To Attack Nnabagereka“).

For at least 3 weeks now, Mr. Kabuye has been warning his listeners that UNAA supporters in Washington DC had a plan to use Nnabagereka as a weapon to do a Kayunga 2 on the Kabaka of Buganda and stop him from coming to Ttabamiruka in the USA. At this time, it appears that the battle lines are clearly drawn between loyalist Baganda and UNAA/NRM (with quiet support from UPC, FDC and DP-Mao). The loyalist Baganda expect Kabaka to be at Ttabamiruka to assure Obuganda that he is ready to lead them even in the worst situations. The “Uganda First” groups are fighting for the Nnabagereka to come to UNAA, to force the Lion of Buganda to stay home, isolated from the powerful Buganda loyalists. This sinister plan to control Kabaka’s movements by remote control is what loyalist Baganda are calling Kayunga 2.

A 4 day investigation by Buganda Post reveals that Uganda dirty politics has spilled over into the USA as both NRM and opposition political operatives joined to send out a fake email message attacking Nnabagereka Sylvia Nnagginda. The email accuses Nnabagereka Nagginda of, among other things, disrespecting Baganda by planning to attend the NRM sponsored UNAA convention in September 2010 and attempting to become the “Nnabagereka of Uganda”. The UNAA convention is funded by the Ugandan NRM government and it happens on the same day as the Baganda International conference, Ttabamiruka ’10. Kabaka Mutebi is expected to grace Ttabamiruka ’10 but the UNAA website also states that the Nnabagereka intends go and attend the UNAA convention in Washington DC. Many Baganda loyalists are very angry and have spoken very strongly against the Nnabagereka’s plans but not to the extent of calling her obscene names.

After the investigation by Buganda Post technical volunteers, we can report that the email was created by a team that includes supporters of NRM, FDC, DP and UNAA wishing to discredit nationalist Baganda opposed to Nnabagereka going to UNAA. A source involved in Ugandan opposition politics in the USA informed us that the letter to attack Nnabagereka was discussed and agreed on as a way to stop Kabaka from coming to the USA in September and strengthening Baganda loyalists.

Our source said: “Many Baganda opportunists want to say ‘Woligwa wendigwa’ but see Kabaka and Mengo as an obstacle in the way of their goal to get big posts in an FDC, UPC, DP or NRM government. The email attacking Nnabagereka is an old NRM trick to make pro-Buganda voices like Ekiba Kibe Radio, Buganda Post, Ababaka Radio and others look like they did it. By the way, it is the same trick Museveni used in Luweero, impersonating Obote’s army to kill Baganda. Even here, these people don’t care what happens to the Nnabagereka’s image so long as they can stop Kabaka from coming to New Jersey.”

In a show of unheard of bravery in Buganda, the Chairman of NRM funded UNAA, Mr. Edward Wilson has publically boasted to thousands of Baganda on the Internet that he has the “ability and access to talk directly with the Nnabagereka herself.”  Mr. Wilson boasted in an email he sent to several Baganda Internet discussion groups. Because some of the discussion groups have hundreds of members, which means that, since he doesn’t really know their members, he probably intended to make sure that every Muganda he can reach should know about his influence over the Nnabagereka.

The Washington D.C. based Muganda elder who forwarded Mr. Wilson’s email to Buganda Post included the following comments in Luganda: “Banange mulabe obugwenyufu webutuuse mu bana Yuganda. Ani yali awulidde omusajja omuganda, wadde munamawanga ategeera ebya Buganda nga yewaana mu lujjude nti yetukira buterevu ewa  muka Beene? Ekyo kkive mu Buganda! Era Wilson kirabika musajja muzira kufa, kubanga tatya kunyiiza Baganda obukadde omukaaga. “ (“Friends, look how far stupidity has reached among Ugandans. Who has ever heard of a Muganda man, or even a foreigner sensitive to Buganda culture, publically boasting about having direct access to Beene’s wife? Clearly Wilson is a very brave man, because he is not afraid of making six million Baganda angry at him.”

On April 18, 2010, Buganda Post reported that Baganda in the diaspora were concerned about a press release by UNAA that Nnabagereka would be the guest speaker at UNAA (see “Diaspora Baganda Concerned About Nnabagereka Going To UNAA”).  Also on April 18, 2010, Mr. Kabuye of Ekiba Kibe program on Free Buganda Radio warned UNAA to stop “massaging the a lion’s teeth” (Click on Ekiba_Kibe18Apr10A to listen or see “Story About Nnabagereka Going To UNAA Is Bogus, Robert Kabuye“). Apparently, one nationalist Muganda whose name is not disclosed, reacted to all that and sent an email to a Baganda discussion group to say that Wilson’s press release is not genuine.  It was in response to that email from the patriotic Muganda that Mr. Moses Wilson violated a centuries old taboo in Buganda and told the world that he is buddies with the Kabaka’s wife.

Mr. Wilson’s brave action came at a time when UNAA seems to be having serious public relations and financial problems which could allow NRM to decide its fate. Our sources tell us that registration is far below the usual at this time because of the large number of Baganda who plan to attend Ttabamiruka instead. We have also been told that within the organizers, there fear that NRM operatives will find a way to embarrass Nnabagereka, to pay for what happened to Janet Museveni in Chicago.  Mr. Wilson’s appearance to join the NRM’s campaign to break all taboos that make Baganda special, such as never to publically talk about personal relationships with Kabaka’s wives, is expected to hurt UNAA further.  Many Ugandans who do not wish to be associated with any form of cultural genocide against Buganda might have trouble going to UNAA.  It is also difficult now for the Mother of Buganda herself to attend UNAA and help in the NRM’s cultural genocide against her own family.

Radio Free Buganda has clarified that the announcement by Moses Wilson that Nnabagereka Sylvia Nnagginda will be the keynote speaker at UNAA Washington is bogus. In the April 18, 2010 Ekiba Kibe programme, the anchorman, Mr. Robert Kabuye, explained that Wilson’s announcement is a scam to help UNAA register Baganda. Kabuye said:  “Abakulu abamu abategeka kwekuli omukulu eyeyita omulangira, Kalema Musoke, omukulu eyeyita family ya Kabaka, Moses Wilson, omukulu eyeyita Zabasaja nga ye Zabasaida, ne mukyala we. Bagenda bagamba abantu ku Facebook nti Maama wa Buganda y’agenda okubeera omugenyi omukulu mu bintu byaabwe ebya Museveni ebya UNAA. Teli atakimanyi nti UNAA ya Museveni. Era bazeemu okukozesa obukodyo bwebumu obwa Museveni.” (“Some of the oreganizers are Kalema Musoke, who says he is a prince, Moses Wilson, who claims to be a close relative of the Kabaka, Mr. Zabasaida, who calls himself Zabasaja and his wife. They tell people on Facebook that the mother of Buganda will be the chief guest at Museveni’s UNAA. Everyone knows that Museveni owns UNAA. They have started to use Museveni’s dirty tactics once again.”

Kabuye asks: “Lwaaki temulanga muka Museveni nti yajja? Lwaaki muyingirira byaffe ebya Buganda? Mwagala otukubya emizimu emiggo!” (“Why don’t you use Mrs. Museveni? Why do you meddle in Buganda affairs? Do you want the spirits of Buganda ancestors to punish us?”) He tells the UNAA team to stop spreading  false stories about the Nnabagereka and to stay out of Buganda affairs. Kabuye advises them to invite Mrs. Museveni. According to Mr. Kabuye’s, when they play with the Nnabagereka name, they are massaging the lion’s teeth. Finally The he demands that Omulangira Kalema Musoke must make clear where his loyalty is – Buganda or UNAA – and assures his listerners that Abaana ba Kintu will certainly stop the dirty tacktics against the Nnabagereka. MR. Kabuye vows to stop any attempt to connect the Nnabagereka institution with UNAA.

We have received several inquiries and complaints about a press release that is circulating on the Internet and announcing that the mother of Buganda, Nnabagereka Sylvia Nnagginda, will be the key note speaker at the 2010 UNAA convention in Washington DC, USA. The press release came from the email of Moses Wilson the president of UNAA.

To honor the Nnabagereka institution, Buganda Post shall not publish any of the very strong opinions that Baganda may express about Mr. Wilson’s press release.  However, we can report that some Baganda in USA are extremely concerned that, after failing to compromise Kabaka Mutebi, the NRM is using the UNAA to set up his wife for a major embarrassment. The NRM is the UNAA’s biggest funder and Perez Kamunanirwe, NRM’s ambassador in the USA and Kabaka’s representatives in the USA engineered the deal for UNAA.

If Nnabagereka Sylvia Nnagginda goes to the UNAA convention in Washington DC, she could land in the middle of the increasingly controversial politics of Uganda American community, which is fast breaking apart. During the 2009 UNAA convention in Chicago, there was strong evidence of NRM style vote manipulation. Besides vote theft, the NRM government flew over 300 operatives to the USA to vote for Moses Wilson.  Besides the election problems at UNAA Chicago, Baganda made Mrs. Museveni extremely and visibly angry when they told her that her she and her husband were the most corrupt presidential family they had ever seen.

Wilson’s win split the UNAA organization into camps of Frank Musisi and Flex Kabuye supporters. Later, new organizations to compete with UNAA were created, including UADA and UDII. Many other Baganda simply woke up and totally abandoned UNAA/NRM style politics and joined the movement to liberate Buganda (“Buli mbuzi ku nkondo yaayo”).  Recently UADA announced that they would hold their own convention in Boston on the same dates as UNAA.  And most Baganda fed up with UNAA/NRM are expected to go Ttabamiruka ’10 because it focuses on Buganda issues.

The Ugandan North American Association (UNAA) is pleased to announce that the Key Note Speaker at its upcoming 22nd Annual Convention in Washington DC will be Her Royal Highness Sylvia Nagginda, Nnabagereka of Buganda.

The Nnabagereka is the Patron of the Uganda Cancer Research Foundation and will be leading a delegation from this organization that will host a forum on its work at the UNAA Convention on Saturday September 4th, 2010.

The restoration of the Kabakaship in 1993 heralded the genesis of a new Buganda. It gave the Baganda a new sense of purpose and a vision towards a common future. The Nnabagereka (Her Royal Highness, the Queen), who is the wife of the Kabaka (King of Buganda), is considered the mother of the Kingdom and a symbol of unity for the Baganda.

There is a new and significant role HRH Sylvia Nagginda, as the wife of the Kabaka, has to play in the Kingdom. According to the government’s official website, www.buganda.or.ug, “preparations for Buganda conference are in full gear and all signs are promising for a successful event.” The conference is to take place on December 17, 2010 and Ssabasajja is expected to appear at the occasion. The venue is Hotel Africana on Jinja Road.

This is the second Buganda national conference organiszed by the Government. The armed occupation of. Buganda by the foreigner led NRM government presents huge challenges to the organizing committe. For example, since warlord Museveni closed CBS Radio the coomittee is having a difficult time promoting in Uganda.

On the other hand, although hundreds of Baganda will in the mother land in December, and would be happy to pay even $50 to attend, the organizers do not seem to have considered this in their scheduling or promotion.  According to the statement the the government website, secretary to the organizign committee, Mr. Uthman Mulindwa, “many people are not aware of the conference because of the absence of CBS radio on air”. However, he does not indicate if the committee is trying other channels, such as  using Baganda media outlets in the Diaspora. Yet many Baganda back in the NRM occupied kingdom now get their news from relatives living outside.

Buganda Post will bring its readers any new information that becomes available on the conference. Some the Kabaka’s representatives in the Diaspora may also provide information on the conference. We will communicate where and how Baganda and friends the Diaspora can send their financial support for the Buganda Conference as soon as the information is available.

BUGANDA CONFERENCE 2009

Preparations for Buganda conference are in full gear and all signs are promising for a successful event.

The Conference is an annual event in Buganda, graced by the Kabaka of Buganda with an aim of creating a platform for debate and interactions on the Kingdom’s issues.

It is also part of the celebrations to commemorate coronation anniversary. However, due to the numerous problems witnessed by the Kingdom during the past two months, the conference could not coincide with the anniversaries and was therefore shifted to December under the theme “a Federo System of Governance for Uganda”.

According to the committee Secretary, Uthman Mulindwa, shifting the conference to December will not change its main goals and objectives.

He however cited limited publicity of the conference as one of the biggest problems encountered by the committee. He explained that this has occurred due to the break down of the communication network within the Kingdom.

Mulindwa added that many people are not aware of the conference because of the absence of CBS radio on air.

He added that due to this communication break down, the committee is incurring very high costs on advertising the conference which has necessitated for the setup of a registration fee of 25000 per participant to help in the proper planning and preparations of the conference.

The registration exercise and the sale of cards are carried out at Bulange, Mengo in the ministry of Economic planning room TF8 on 3rd floor.

The committee therefore appeals to the public to spread the gospel about the conference to other people.

The SMS we got from out agent in Mubende town,  Buwekula county, where Sabasajja Kabaka chose to celebrate Buganda’s 14th independence observance was simple but very inspiring: “Empologoma ya Buganda ebogodde buto!” (”The lion of Buganda has roared yet again!”). In his first public statements since he was forced to go to Museveni’s statehouse and then tricked into appearing to be negotiating with a commoner, Kabaka Mutebi made it very clear that the current occupation conditions in Buganda are not acceptable.  The SMS from our reporter came seconds after Ssabasajja Kabaka told the mammoth crowd at Buganda independence day ceremonies, “The 47 years of independence which we are observing today have  been wasted by senseless conflicts and governance problems. As a result of this, our development has been paralyzed. Thinking in terms of constant conflicts must stop.”

According to our reporter, the lion of Buganda went on to give as example, leaders who practice decisive politics in an effort to divide Buganda into artificial chiefdoms. Warning that, “we must not tolerate what such leaders are doing.”

In the presence of his wife, Nnabagereka Nnaginda, the Kabaka promised that his kingdom nation will never promote constant ethnic conflicts because, “we value unity and not divisions in Buganda”.

Last week Kabaka Mutebi reluctantly went to Museveni’s state house after the Ugandan warlord threatened that if Ssabasajja did not meet him, he would introduce laws to abolish kingdoms and probably arrest  His Majesty. Our sources tell us that Kabaka Mutebi was not too concerned by Museveni’s empty talk but Katikkiro Walusimbi, other old Baganda and CBS Radio shareholders convinced him that Museveni was willing to entertain most of Buganda’s demands if the Kabaka spoke to him.  Although, Museveni dressed up properly to meet Kabaka Mutebi, including putting on dress shoes and walking his painful feet straight, he broke his promise to Walusimbi within minutes after the Buganda delegation arrived. Museveni took everyone by surprise when he told them to wait he spoke to Kabaka Mutebi for some minutes. The minutes turned into a full hour, after which Museveni’s state house and Katikkiro both started spinning that the private talks between were “ground breaking”.  Nothing on the original agenda took place because of the Museveni scam (kavuyo).

Surprisingly, next day, Katikkiro Walusimbi issued a statement claiming that, the meeting between Ssabasajja and the Ugandan warlord had removed all tensions between Buganda and her NRM occupiers (see “Katikkiro JB Walusimbi Praises Gunpoint Meeting Between Kabaka and Museveni“). Then Deputy Katikkiro Ssendaula wrote to all Kabaka’s representatives outside Buganda  asking them to tell Diaspora Baganda to be “very calm” while Mmengo talks to the occupying forces. Owek. Ssendaula’s letter angered some Baganda because it seems to focus only on  “not upsetting Museveni” and says nothing about the plight of Kabaka Mutebi and many of his loyal subjects who were murdered or are under torture in the NRM governments prisons and safe houses (see “Deputy Katikkiro and Kabaka’s Representative Anger UK Baganda“).

The consensus among all the 4 Baganda analysts who we have contacted is that Kabaka Mutebi made the strong statements in Buwekula to clearly and publicly disown the appeasing, apologetic and sometimes cowardly tone of the statements which his Katikkiro and his Deputy have been making.  One analyst named David Kasozi said: “Once a Muganda radical, always a Muganda radical. Nabadda is a short  Luganda film about a young and poor Muganda orphan girl who agreed to marry an uncouth  business man if he first paid for her education through nursing school. This film is a living testament of the unstoppable ingenuity of Baganda despite over 40 years of Uganda government efforts to break their spirits. You have to see it to believe it! And the ending is a good one too.

The story of Nabadda was written and produced by George Sengendo. The Executive producer is Godfrey Walusimbi and the executive director is Faustin Misanvu. These Kabaka’s men assembled guided an excellent cast of actors to deliver a clear message  “Magezi ga Baganda” prevails; a world class movie industry is asking root in Buganda. The lighting is perfect for over 90% of the film and the cinematography leaves no doubt that Bugandawood is for real.

The cast includes Patrico Mujuuka, Florence Achola, Evelyne Kiwewesi, Nsubuga Nakalya and super villain Sulaimani Kiggundu. It also includes tens of minor actors and extras, to give the movie the semblance of a Hollywood production.
