Rwandese Soldier Returns To Ekiba Kibe, Talks About Kasubi

Tags: , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , ,

In late February and early March 2010, a man called Ntare told listeners of SMS based Ekiba Kibe program that he is a former Rwandese soldier both in Uganda and Rwanda, who is now a Canadian citizen (see “Rwandese Former Soldier Says Baganda Must Stop Being Cowards” and “We Don’t Want You To Fight For Us, Kabuye Tells Rwandese Soldier”). He warned Baganda that Museveni intended to destroy Buganda. On March 26, 2010, Ekiba Kibe’s Robert Kabuye brought Ntare back to the Free Buganda Radio studios to discuss the burning of Buganda’s sacred Kasubi Tombs.

Ntare, claimed that Museveni is the one who burnt the Kasubi tombs and explained that Museveni’s reasons for doing it are (1) to hit Buganda enough to kill all her strength (“ayagala abakube abamalemu amaanyi”), (2) he is testing to see if your are still united (“abagezaako amanyi alabe oba mukyaali wamu”). Mr. Kabuye then asked Ntare why Baganda must trust him: “Why should we trust you; right now we are not even willing to shake your hand. How do we know you are not Museveni’s agent?” (“Tunakwesiga tutya; kubanga kati tetusobola nakukwaata mu ngalo. Tukwesiga tutya nti toli agent wa Museveni?”). Ntare claimed that his goal is to fight injustices as a freedom fighter. But he also admitted that there was no reason why Mr. Kabuye should trust him.

Ntare also said Museveni is using “divide and rule” to confuse Baganda.. Ntare told Mr. Kabuye Museveni will keep bribing certain Baganda to create problems for strong Baganda nationalists. If that fails Museveni will try to directly try to bribe the same Baganda nationalists. And if that fails, he will use murder.

We Don’t Want You To Fight For Us, Kabuye Tells Rwandese Soldier

Tags: , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , ,

kabaka_corontation_09On March 1, 2010, the host of SMS based Ekiba Kibe program told a man who claims to be a Rwandese soldier that, this time, Buganda does not need foreigners to liberate her. Mr. Kabuye was responding after the man called Ntare described himself as a Cuban traine freedom fighter who ready to fight to liberate Buganda. Mr. Kabuye told Mr. Ntare that the problem is that the people of Buganda are not will anymore to trust foreigners to liberate them.

At one point in the interview Mr. Kabuye asked Mr. Ntare: “Okimanyiiko nti Museveni Munyarwanda?” (”Are you aware that Museveni is Rwandese?”). Ntare replied:

“Museveni Munyarwanda kikumi ku kikumi. Njagala mbategeeze nti Museveni ne Kagame bakolera wamu.” (”Museveni is 100% a Rwandese. 1 want you to know that Museveni and Kagame work together.”).

Later in the interview, Ntare said: “I am a Canadian citizen kikumi ku kikumi, ekyokubiri ndi ready okulwanirira Buganda” (”I am a Canadian citizen 1 00%, secondly 1 am ready to fight for Buganda.”). Mr. Kabuye responded: “Awo abantu kyetutakiriziganya nakyo ssebo … Abaganda … bagamba nti eyali alumiddwa ku musota tosobola kusaawo kugulu nga ogulabye.” (”That is where we cannot agree with you sir. .. Abaganda … have a saying that if you were bitten by a snake before, you cannot put your leg forward when you see a snake.”). Mr. Kabuye continued: “Njagala otuwe birowoozo naye tosobola kutulimba nti ogenda okutulwanirira.” (”I want you to just give us your ideas but do not lie to us that you are going to fight for our liberation.”

Mr. Ntare told Ekiba Kibe listners that he is a Canadian citizen who first run to the USA after running into problems with both the NRM and the Rwandan governments. He says that he moved from the USA to Canada because he believed that he can be more secure there.

On February 23, Ntare told Free Buganda Radio listeners that he was a former soldier in both Uganda and Rwanda (see “Rwandese Former Soldier Says Baganda Must Stop Being Cowards“).

Long Term Boston Resident Says Buganda Should Eye Secession

Tags: , , , , , , , , , , , , ,

In a short essay distributed on the Internet, long-term Boston, USA, resident Tendo Kaluma, says that Buganda should consider secession from Uganda as an option.  He uses the example of the much smaller and poorer Rwanda to show that Buganda has the capacity to succeed as an independent country. He also mentions Eretria’s relatively recent separation from Ethiopia as an example of “a successful exercise of secession.”

Mr. Kaluma’s essay, dated December, 10, 2009, is reproduced below:

The nation of Buganda, needs to have an internally motivating monologue, to gather up strength and to show it’s resolve, now more than ever. How long can they sit idly, while hemorrhaging and enduring such fatal blows economically, politically and socially, blows that have caused serious damage to their own development agenda and above all their collective psyche.

There comes a time when the need to cut ones losses becomes paramount, like a young man leaving the comforts of his home, when he turns of age; it might just be that time!  How different from Rwanda will Buganda be? Yet Rwanda has managed to meet all expectations without much hiccupping, unfettered in their affairs and free from molestation.

Secession ought to be among the options considered by Buganda to up the ante -with an increasingly hostile central government. Eritrea lives and it is vibrant more than ever after a successful exercise of secession.

If this is the only way we could achieve federation, so be it; but they have to prop up the polity and prepare them for a bumpy ride-I have all confidence in the prowess of a non-oppressed Buganda, their star has shined before and it shall continue to shine whether in a swimming pool or an ocean.  You will see them climbing higher than ever while enviably realizing their full potential.

Minutes Of A Meeting Between Katikkiro and Bazzukulu Ba Buganda

Tags: , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , ,

Despite lack of recognition and, sometimes, outright hostility from some Buganda Government officials, Abazzukulu ba Buganda are widely recognized one of the leading groups in protecting Buganda’s rights. Abazzukulu, as they are often referred to, have for more than 10 years actively argued that Buganda has been under occupation since 1962, and needs to free herself. They are responsible for exposing many anti Buganda plots by Museveni and at Mmengo. For example, in the 1990’s Abazzuklu ba Buganda led the ejection Princess Ndagire from Kasubi tombs after she was hired by Museveni to discredit Kabaka Mutebi by calling him a son of Daudi Ocheng.  Another example was in July 2004, when Abazzukulu challenged Mmengo over Shs 800m which Museveni’s government is alleged to have secretly paid to members of Katikkiro Ssemwogerere’s team to disorganize planned Baganda demonstrations for Federo.

Except for the brief period when Dan Muliika was Katikkiro, the relationship between Mmengo and Abazzukulu over the last 15 years, has been quite tense. In 2006 the group did not spare, even Muliika, when they accused him of being soft for glorifying Federo. Abazukkulu insist that Buganda has been under occupation, since 1966. Federo is a cowardly compromise that demeans what our ancestors died for and the only solution is full national independence under our Kabaka.

Below are the minutes (in Luganda) of a meeting members of Bazzkulu had with Katikkiro JB Walusimbi on August 31, 2009. This was less than two weeks before the infamous genocidal massacre of Baganda by Museveni’s NRM police and army. Throughout the meeting, Abazzukulu expressed disappointment with what they view as incompetence, corruption and anti Buganda activities at Mmengo.

Kabaka’s Subjects Test NRM Occupation Government In Its Own Courts

Tags: , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , ,

Kabaka in crowdFour loyal subjects of Kabaka Muwenda Mutebi of Buganda have taken the NRM Buganda occupation government to its own constitutional court, requesting the jurists to rule the blocking of the Kabaka’s visit to Bugerere county unconstitutional. The petitioners are Omutaka Edward Kamya Lugonvu who is the Katikkiro of Mamba clan, Omutaka Dr Adam Kimala, also an elder in the Mamba clan together with Charles Ssenkungu Walugendo and Ms Sayida Najjuka who are both residents of Bugerere county (Bagerere).

On behalf of the their clients Balikuddembe and Co Advocates and Godfrey Lule Legal Consultants, petitioned the Uganda constitutional court to rule that in barring the Kabaka and his Katikkiro Eng. John Baptist Walusimbi from visiting Kayunga in Bugerere County on September 12, the government contravened various provisions of the Constitution, including Article 21 which outlaws discriminatory acts.

Dr. Adam Kimala is a leading Muganda conservative intellectual. He and his lawyer, Godfrey Lule, were among the closest supporters and advisors to former Katikkiro Daniel Muliika as he (Muliika) taught Mmengo and Buganda how to “wake up” and resist the occupation.

Omulongo Kamya submitted an affidavit t stating that, among other things, while the Baganda, including those in the Diaspora are not compelled to pay allegiance to the Kabaka in any way, loyalty is rendered on their “own free will” and to prevent the kingdom’s people from associating in their diverse cultural norms “violates” their constitutional right to freedom of association.

The Attorney General of the NRM occupation government, Kiddu Makubuya, has up to 14 days within which to formally respond to the petition.

The current Uganda constitution was enacted in 1995 against the wishes of Baganda, the most influential and wealthiest of Uganda’s many ethnic groups. According to the Odoki Commission which surveyed Ugandans for input into the  new constitution, 90% of Buganda residents demanded federal form of government.  However, with support from Norway, Denmark and Sweden, Museveni’s NRM froced an arbitrary “decentralization form of government” into the constitution . Despite heavy promotion by Museveni co-conspirator at the time, Jaberi Bidandi Ssali, Baganda rejected Museveni’s decentralization and immediately started to agitate for the federal (federo) constitution. It is the 10 years of Buganda agitation for federo and Museveni’s brutal response that led to the huge demonstrations of September 10-11, 2009 and Museveni’s massacre of 30 Baganda. Over 65% of Uganda’s armed forces are now stationed in Buganda, 20% of the size, which puts the kingdom under armed occupation by the NRM government and its Banyankore, Bakiga, Banyarwanda and other collaborators.

Tags: , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , ,

NRM Kisekka BeatingsUganda’s ruling political party, the NRM, which is also Buganda’s occupation force, is planning to hold its 2009 gala in Boston on Saturday September 27, 2009. And an estimated 500 to 1,000 Baganda from the North East United States are expected to be there to demonstrate against the occupation of Buganda, the restrictions place on their Kabaka and the state of emergency conditions that have been imposed in Buganda. On the receiving end will be an estimated 50-100 of what the Baganda demonstrators call loyal members of the murderous NRM party and their collaborators.

As we reported yesterday though, barring a last minute change on Friday, the NRM master, president Yoweri Museveni of Uganda is expected cancelled his attendance at the NRM Gala after enduring an unpleasant time at the UN general assembly (see, “Kabaka, Obama, Foot Pain, and Baganda Demos Force Museveni To Leave USA“). At the time of posting this story, we had not confirmed if the Uganda warlord had left the USA. According to our sources in both New Jersey and Boston, the Baganda demonstrators do not care whether Museveni is present or not. They believe that they will still achieve their goals.

One source sent us an email which said that: “Our goals are simple. One, to send a message to the Munyarwanda that he triggered the beginning of his end when he touched Magulu Nyondo, Nyanja Temanyiirwa, Musota. There is no going back for him and his collaborators; he may win small battles like closing CBS but he lost the war the day he publically told Ssabasajja what to do and not to do. Goal number two is to maintain our campaign against the genocidal NRM Buganda occupiers and collaborator. We are tired and very angry and the Kalembas and Kalemas of this world will, with time, find out how dumb it is sell one’s soul to a crook for a few pieces of silver.”

The NRM Gala, mostly funded by the Uganda embassy in Washington DC, will be held at the Marriott Copley Place Hotel, downtown Boston, Massachusetts, USA. The address is 110 Huntington Avenue, Boston MA 02116. The organizing committee includes only Banyankore/Bakiga and Baganda as follows:

  • Charles T. Kampororo
  • Frank Mwebesa
  • John Nuwamanya-Matsiko
  • Sania Mutegyeki
  • Kenneth Mutegyeki

Southern California Baganda To Demonstrate Against NRM Government

Musajja wa Kabaka Damiano Kigoye, based in In Southern California, has issues a statement announcing a demonstration in Los Angeles against Yoweri Museveni’s terrorist government.  The demonstration is scheduled to take place on Saturday, September 19, 2009, in Los Angeles. Mr. Kigoye’s statement is reproduced below:

Dear Community Members, fellow Baganda, friends of Buganda,

As the United States was remembering the horrors of the 9/11 terror last week, Buganda Kingdom in Uganda was under attack by terrorists with orders to kill unarmed civilians rioting for the well-being of their King and Kingdom from Uganda’s central government!!

These acts of terror under Museveni’s command, various media houses observed, have been long in waiting!!! This was not just a matter between central government and Buganda Kingdom, it was rather a well organized tribal fighting between Buganda and the Banyala incited by Museveni’s government.

To the ordinary Muganda and Ugandan; you and I, this was a wake up call for Unity in preparation for what tomorrow might bring. The mad man is still at large. The world MUST be informed in advance that ethnic clashes in Africa end up in genocides.

The equipments and weapons that were used on civilians last week are just a hint that the mad dogs are ready to do whatever it takes to cleanse Buganda!

Though some Baganda (NRM MPs) have indicated their extremism by supporting Museveni as opposed to their King and Kingdom, the rest of us MUST come together in the fight for our Kingdom.

The peaceful demonstrations organized in almost every location where Baganda resides worldwide is a true sign of Unity for Buganda and Uganda as well.

We therefore call upon every Muganda and all friends of Baganda and Buganda to participate in these demonstrations so that we can send a clear message to the world that the genocide that took place in our backyards in 1994 in Rwanda is bound to happen in our living rooms.

In Souther California, the largest ever demonstration is scheduled to take place on Saturday, September 19, 2009, in Los Angeles.

The Assembly which will be escorted by LAPD will be flagged off at exactly 11:00 am at 11600 Wilshire Blvd. We will be marching eastwards, singing patriotic songs of Buganda to Federal Building Lawns where we will be addressed by different leaders.

The  event will be covered by all major media houses; ABC7, CNN, BBC, Los Angeles Times , New York Times, NPR , and many more.

We encourage traditional dressing: Men in Kanzu and Ladies in Busuuti.
Bring Placards and drums.

More details will be communicated to you.

Thank you for your support.

Ssabassajja Kabaka awangaale.

U.S. Citizens Warned Against Traveling to Occupied Buganda

Tags: , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , ,

On September 11, 2009, the United States Department of State issued a statement, warning U.S. citizens about traveling to Uganda. The statement casually refers to Buganda as “a vestige of a pre-modern kingdom located in central Uganda, inclusive of Kampala”. This attitude is remarkably similar to the one that the American and several European embassies in Rwanda had towards the Tutsi rebels months before the 1994 genocide.

The U. S. State Department statement is shown in full below:

Travel Alert

U.S. DEPARTMENT OF STATE
Bureau of Consular Affairs

The Department of State alerts U.S. citizens to the violent demonstrations stemming from political friction between the central government and the authorities of Buganda, which is a vestige of a pre-modern kingdom located in central Uganda, inclusive of Kampala.  This Travel Alert expires on November 10, 2009.

As a result of these demonstrations, travel within the downtown central business district of Kampala and surrounding areas is severely restricted, and U.S. citizens should be aware that spontaneous demonstrations can occur without notice.  This potential for violent demonstrations will remain throughout the weekend of September 12-13, and may extend into the following week.

The Kampala-Entebbe road that connects the Entebbe International Airport and Kampala was closed several times on September 10, and some roads leading north from Kampala were sporadically closed.  These sporadic closures are expected to continue to occur through the weekend, and perhaps beyond.  This means travel to and from the airport may be severely restricted and may cause lengthy delays.  U.S. citizens planning to travel out of Entebbe International Airport should be sure to give themselves at least four (4) hours to get to the airport from Kampala.

U.S. citizens should be aware that even peaceful gatherings and demonstrations can turn unexpectedly violent.  U.S. citizens in Uganda should remain aware of their surroundings, monitor and assess their own security situations at all times, and avoid large public gatherings, protests, and demonstrations.  U.S. citizens are encouraged to report unusual events or activities to the U.S. Embassy.

U.S. citizens with questions or concerns may telephone the Consular Section of the U.S. Mission in Uganda at (256) (0) (414) 259 791 or (256) (0) (414) 306 001.  In the case of an emergency outside business hours, or during any suspension of public services, U.S. citizens may reach the U.S. Mission duty officer at the same numbers.

For the latest security information, citizens living or traveling abroad should regularly monitor the Department’s Bureau of Consular Affairs internet website at: http://travel.state.gov/, where the current Worldwide Caution, Travel Alerts, Travel Warnings, and Country Specific Information can be found.  Up-to-date information on security can also be obtained by calling 1-888-407-4747 toll free in the U.S. and Canada, or, for callers outside the U.S. and Canada, a regular toll line at 1-202-501-4444.  These numbers are available from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Eastern Time, Monday through Friday (except U.S. Federal Holidays).

U.S. citizens are advised to register and update their contact information with the U.S. Mission in Kampala.  The U.S. Embassy is located at Plot 1577 Ggaba Road.  The phone number is (256) (0) (414) 306 001 or (256) (0) (414) 259 791, fax (256) (0) (414) 258 451, email: KampalaUSCitizen@state.gov, and U.S. Embassy Kampala website: http://kampala.usembassy.gov.

Barak Obama to Get Involved In Congo

Tags: , , , , , , , , , , , , ,

Barak ObamaBarak Obama has just ended a trip to Europe and Africa, which included an address to Ghana’s parliament. Here, he laid out his agenda and expectations for African nations. Most important was the development of democratic and transparent governments throughout the continent. To this end, the United States will put emphasis on ending long standing conflicts through more aggressive diplomatic measures than those practiced by the Bush and Clinton administration.

The White House is going to appoint a special envoy to central Africa to investigate the problems of eastern Congo because they believe that the future stability of the region is dependent on one of its largest countries. Senior administration officials said that the US believes that the primary problems in eastern Congo are foreign agents, such as the rebel groups, the Democratic Front for the Liberation of Rwanda and the Lord’s Resistance Army in Uganda. Plus the governments of Uganda and Rwanda which are profiting from keeping the region destabilized.

The United States interest in the region is not purely selfless. The Atlantic Ocean waters off Congo and Angola are a major source of America’s oil imports and the Obama has limited confidence that President Kabila can hold the Democratic Republic of Congo together.
