The Boston [Buganda Emergency Meeting] Resolutions number 3,8 and 10 prove that Buganda’s greatest problem is we the Baganda ourselves. Up to now we have failed to understand our problem? It is deceptive for any patriotic Muganda or genuine Buganda well wisher to still prescribe federalism, free and fair elections, democracy, and mobilization of other ethnic communities as way forward for Buganda as envisaged in the Boston resolutions 3,8, and 10 (see “Resolutions of the Buganda Emergency Meeting in Boston on October 17, 2009“). The authors of the Boston resolutions should retreat and carefully study the Buganda problem right from the 1950s up to now 2009 and see whether their resolution score any goals for Buganda.
The truth is that Democracy’s free and fair elections wont solve our problem. There is overwhelming evidence that any thing that affects or pains Buganda automatically brings joy/ happiness to the rest of Uganda. Whoever inflicts pain on Buganda automatically gets the backing of the rest parts of Uganda. So what do you [expect] in terms of votes! Definitely the candidate who displays most anti- Bugandaism will get more votes because nothing really unites Ugandans more than their common hate for Buganda.
Buganda struggled and earned full federal in 1962 protected by the 1962 constitution. How did it help us? For how long did it last? How was it lost? What has changed now?
It is laziness to demand for federal now. Self-determination is our right. We have a right to exist the way we prefer. Lets focus on Buganda’s independence. We can re-unite with other Uganda if we find it necessary but on our own terms.

According to a report in The Seattle Times of Washinton State, USA, a 22-year-old Muganda who overstayed his visa and then landed a job by taking on the identity of a fellow Muganda has been sentenced in Portland to a year and a day in prison.
The newspaper online edition of March 19, 2009 reported that Pius Mayanja was sentenced Thursday in U.S. District Court. Mayanja pleaded guilty in August to aggravated identity theft for using the Maine driver’s license and Social Security card of Thomas Kasenge.
Prosecutors said Kasenge had willingly provided the documents with the understanding that Mayanja would pay him for their use. Kasenge was found guilty last month of aiding and abetting fraud and aggravated identity theft.
Kasenge is awaiting sentencing.

A source in the Buganda Government’s headquarters, Bulange, has told this reporter that some Mmengo officials, led by one Ahmed Bamweyana, conned Ugandans into paying thousands of dollars for the promise of USA visas. According to the source, the key players were Mr. Bamweyana and a Mr. Kaddu, who working with someone in the Katikkiro’s office, told scores of Baganda that they were the official representatives of Ttabamiruka in Uganda. Similarly, Baweyana and Kaddu went to the United States embassy and presented themselves the local Ttabamiruka agents.
The problem is that Bamweyana and Kaddu, both officials at Mmengo, were self-appointed agents. Worse still, they were charging the visa applicants about US$3,000 for the visa, which they could not even guarantee. Although some of the applicants got the visas, others, like the one that this reporter spoke to, are having trouble finding Kaddu to get a refund.
Ahmed Bamweyana is a minister in the Kabaka’s government. Previously he was the Chief of Protocol at Mmengo, a position that he used to cheat Baganda who wanted USA visas for the 2007 Ttabamiruka of thousands of US dollars. Some Mmengo experts believe that Katikkiro Ssendaula moved Bamweyana from the Protocol position because of the 2007 visa scandal and because of allegations that he was charging Baganda for audiences with Kabaka Mutebi.
Bamweyana is also regularly accused in Baganda Internet discussion lists of being a Museveni plant at Mmengo, without concrete proof. This reporter has however confirmed that Bamweyana, a former senior clerk at the Uganda High Commission, in London, is currently the Financial Controller in President Museveni’s Education Service Commission.
